19 Apr 2017 | ThoroughbredNEWS News Desk

Racing NSW advised on Wednesday that following an inspection of the Murwillumbah racecourse by NRRA Stewards, the track has been deemed unsuitable for racing and the meeting schedueled for ANZAC Day has been abandoned.

Approximately 60% of the track has been underwater for several days, resulting in large sections of the surface being significantly damaged. The state of the grass coverage in those sections is in need of repair and regeneration.

On Tuesday Racing NSW advised that due to Lismore Racecourse being damaged due to the recent flooding, the race meeting scheduled for Saturday, 29th April 2017 has been transferred to Casino.
