Race 1EMIRATES MELBOURNE CUP TOUR TROPHY - 1200 metres: 

Invincible Heart – Jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and tightened Euston Road. Rider Craig Newitt reported that his mount felt flat. Lost the off hind plate during the event.

Andrassy – Slow to begin

Chat To Maggie – Slow to begin. Lost the off fore plate during the event.

Euston Road – Tightened at the start.  Hampered passing the 400 metres. Rider Declan Bates could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Catch A Fire – When held up, shifted out to improve its position and hampered Euston Road passing the 400 metres. Rider Mark Zahra was severely reprimanded and notified to exercise more care. 

Tykiato – App Ben Allen reported his mount, which performed poorly, failed to stretch out. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Race 2VRC THANKS GREG MILES TROPHY - 1400 metres: 

Violate – Slow to begin.

Trenchant – Jumped away awkwardly.

Flying Jess – Raced further forward than at its most recent start. App Jordan Childs explained that after being caught wide he elected to ride his mount forward to be closer to the rail.

Wazzenme – A post race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be mildly distressed and was suffering the thumps.

Bastille – Lost the off fore plate during the event.

Pop – App Ben Thompson was severely reprimanded for his whip use on a horse when out of contention.

Race 3BADEN RACING TROPHY - 1100 metres: 

Overstep – Change of tactics - To be ridden more forward from the barrier. Led.

Kentucky Miss – Became fractious in the barrier. Underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race.  Jumped away awkwardly. Rider Dean Yendall was fined $300 for failing to ride his mount out fully to the line.

Beyond The Dream – Near the 800 metres when racing keenly had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Sword Of Light, which shifted in.

Brugal Reward – Near the 700 metres hampered when tightened for room between Leotie, which shifted in and Concealer,  which when laying out away from Hear The Chant,  shifted out slightly.

Concealer – A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly had been galloped on the off hind and lost the near fore plate.

Leotie – Performed poorly - Rider Mark Zahra reported that the filly did not feel right in its action and had a tendency to lay out. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slower than normal recovery and a swab sample was taken for analysis.

Race 4TBV THOROUGHBRED BREEDERS STAKES - 1200 metres: 

Peristrophe – Luke Nolen was severely reprimanded for accepting the ride when unable to make the weight and having to be replaced by Craig Newitt. Stewards took into account that L Nolen had been ill during the week. Change of tactics – If begins well to be more forward. After being fractious in the barrier underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. Slow to begin and settled mid field. Rider Craig Newitt reported that after being agitated in the barriers this may have been detrimental to the filly’s chances. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Justice Glory – Slow to begin.

Shoals – Jumped away awkwardly.

Glam Guru – Near the 900 metres brushed on the hindquarters by Peristrophe, which commenced to over race. Glam Guru then shifted out and became unbalanced for a number of strides. Rider Clare Lindop reported that the filly may have been feeling her shins. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Arctic Angel – Rider Chris Symons stated that the filly was extremely agitated pre race, which, in his opinion, may have been detrimental to its chances. Co-trainer Simon Zahra reported that the filly will now have a break from racing to freshen up. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with co-trainers Matthew Ellerton and Simon Zahra.

Garrad - Lost the near fore plate during the event.

Race 5INCOGNITUS BLAMEY STAKES - 1600 metres: 

Sir Isaac Newton (GB) – Change of tactics – To be ridden more positively. Slow to begin and then pressed forward and led. Inconvenienced near the 150 metres by Tosen Stardom (JPN), which shifted in.

He Or She – Slow to begin. Performed poorly. Rider Stephen Baster reported the gelding did not feel right in its action. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with the Hayes/Dabernig stable.

Tosen Stardom (JPN) – Jumped away awkwardly.

Race 6NEW YORK RACING ASSOCIATION GRAND HANDICAP - 2000 metres: 

Via Cavour – Re-shod on arrival at the barriers.

Stormy Shore – Jumped away awkwardly and then got its head up when over racing in the early stages.

Lachie’s Star - Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. 

Waxing (IRE) - Raced in restricted room approaching and passing the 100 metres until the winning post.

Wheal Leisure – Rider Michael Dee reported that the slow mid-race tempo was, in his opinion, detrimental to his mount’s chances.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality and a swab sample was taken for analysis. Stewards will follow up with trainer Archie Alexander.

Hursley (NZ) – Rider Brad Rawiller was severely reprimanded for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100 metres. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account the manner in which he used the whip prior to the 100 metres given that it was a distance race.

Race 7YORK RACECOURSE GRAND HANDICAP - 1200 metres: 

Big Effort – After being fractious in the barrier underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. Performed below market expectations – rider Simon Price reported his mount would be better suited to a track with more give. An irregular heart rhythm was detected on post race veterinary examination.  Big Effort shall not start in any race until the Stewards have received a satisfactory veterinary report. The report must include the results of an ECG performed at rest and cardiac auscultation performed within 30 minutes of completing a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000 metres.

Boomwaa – Jumped away very awkwardly and was then hampered by Staviva, which also jumped away awkwardly and shifted in. Performed poorly – app Beau Mertens reported that, he was instructed to ride his mount on the inside section of the track close to the fence, however after suffering heavy interference at the start, the gelding failed to respond to his riding.

Rich Charm – Slow to begin.

Staviva – Performed poorly – app Ben Thompson could offer no explanation for the performance.

Sword Of Justice – Passing the 100 metres had to be steadied when tightened for room between Rain Fast, which shifted in and Aurelius Hero, which shifted out.

Rain Fast – Rider Nikita Beriman was fined $500 for using her whip on eight occasions prior to the 100 metres, three more than permitted. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account the totality of her whip use during the event.

Race 8GOODWOOD RACECOURSE MARCH STAKES - 1400 metres: 

Orient Line –Slow to begin and then had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Hellova Street, which shifted out on jumping away.

Pin Your Hopes (NZ) – Raced wide without cover.

Jacquinot Bay – Raced wide without cover.

Zebrinz – Held up rounding the home turn and the early part of the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had been galloped on.

Jessy Belle – Checked near the 300 metres when attempting a narrow run between Plot The Course and Zebrinz, which had established itself to the outside of Pin Your Hopes (NZ) and at the same time Pin Your Hopes (NZ) shifted out slightly compounding the incident. In all of the circumstances the Stewards could not attribute the carelessness to any one rider therefore no further action was taken.

Stellar Collision – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality and a swab sample was taken for analysis. Stewards will follow up with trainer Darren Weir.

Hazzabeel (NZ) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Race 9THE CURRAGH GRAND HANDICAP - 1600 metres: 

Atlantic City – Slow to begin and then raced wide without cover.

I Boogi (NZ) – Performed poorly. Jumped away awkwardly. Rider Ryan Maloney reported his mount hung out in the straight and may be better suited to a track with more give. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality other than a small laceration to the off hind pastern

Rezak – Jumped away awkwardly.

Stormsabrewing (NZ) – Over raced in the early and middle stages.

Portman (NZ) – Held up rounding the home turn and checked of the heels of Strike Force near the 250 metres before gaining clear running approaching the 200 metres

Super Haze (IRE) – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight.

Queen Of Wands – Rider Jordan Childs could offer no explanation for the performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with trainer Clarry Conners.

Race 2 - Scott McGrory Maiden Plate - 1000 metres

D O’Sullivan, trainer of Atomic Blast, has reported the colt pulled up with some muscle soreness and will most likely receive some manipulation, have its work lightened but will continue its preparation.

Race 4 - bet365 Maiden Plate - 1400 metres

Stable of David & B Hayes & T Dabernig, co-trainers of Magnus Bay, has reported the gelding had pulled with no issues from the run & will continue its preparation.

Race 6 – Elaren Security Services Handicap – 1300 metres

Hurry (NZ), stable reported that the mare had pulled up in a normal manner and the intention is to continue with her preparation.
