Update - Veterinary: 11-11-2017 Flemington R8 - No.10 Gingernuts - near foreleg, fractured pastern, all signs non life threatening. Surgery Monday

Earlier report - Racing Victoria's (RV) General Manager – Veterinary Services, Dr Grace Forbes, issued the following statement after the running of the Emirates Stakes (2000m) at Flemington on Saturday.

“Gingernuts was a late withdrawal from the race after sustaining an injury to its near foreleg whilst jogging to the start. The jockey immediately dismounted and the horse was quickly attended to by our veterinary team,” Dr Forbes said.

“He was walked onto the float and has been transported to the University of Melbourne Veterinary Clinic in Werribee for further assessment.”
