Race 1 - Sheen Group Plate - 1400 metres:

Runway Queen - late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 8.42am.

Justice Glory - slow to begin.

Play That Song - taken out off its course at the 400m when brushed by Watchmespin which shifted out.

Mahlani (NZ) - raced wide rounding the home turn. Rider Michael Dee advised that he had intended to race forward today, however after beginning awkwardly he then restrained the filly to avoid being caught wide. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Hard Faith - laid out under pressure in the home straight.

Race 2 - Chandler Macleod Plate - 1400 metres:

Swampland (NZ) - second placegetter; prior to correct weight rider Chris Symons viewed the patrol film before deciding not to lodge an objection. Held up for clear running from the 400m until shifting out across the heels of Oregons Day at the 200m.

Heavenly Descent - bounded at the start and was slow to begin. Got its head up when being restrained near the 1000m. Checked approaching the finish when making ground to avoid the heels of Vital Importance.

Tahanee (ARG) - got its head up in the early stages when over-racing and then raced wide without cover.

War Baby - raced four wide without cover from the 1000m.

Falika (NZ) - became unbalanced at the 1000m after being brushed by Heavenly Descent which was over-racing. Held up for clear running upon straightening to the inside of Schism and over the concluding stages had to steady to avoid heels.

Schism - apprentice Ethan Brown could offer no explanation for the performance, which was below expectations. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken for analysis.

Race 3 - HockingStuart Plate - 1200 metres:

Devils Pinch - connections advised would be ridden back today in an effort to finish off; settled behind the leading horses.

Saint Valorem - slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running between Violate and Smart As You Think from the 300m until passing the 100m

Violate - slow to begin.

Tribal Wisdom - over-raced through the middle stages.

Dusty Jack - raced wide without cover. Rider Regan Bayliss was of the opinion his mount would be better suited on a track with more give. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Bezel - had difficulty obtaining clear running after passing the 200m and then over the concluding stages was unable to obtain a clear run and went to the line not fully tested.

Hallelujah Boy (JPN) - rider Blake Shinn was of the view his mount would be suited over further distance and ridden on the pace. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have general soreness, predominantly in the near hind leg, and will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. A swab sample was also taken for analysis.

Race 4 - H D F McNeil Stakes (Group 3) - 1200 metres:

Merchant Navy - slow to begin.

Evil Cry - raced wide without cover.

Booker - raced three wide without cover.

Trekking - steadied at the 350m when held up behind Kobayashi.

Muraahib - held up for clear running from the 300m until the 100m. Rider Blake Shinn was reprimanded and for permitting his mount to shift ground when not clear not the 200m.

Poseidons Pool - steadied at the 200m when tightened for room between Ploverset and Muraahib (Blake Shinn) which shifted after being held up behind Kobayashi which was weakening.

Kobayashi - apprentice Ben Thompson reported his mount did not stretch out today. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Ploverset - rider Regan Bayliss reported his mount got its tongue over the bit.

Race 5 - Ladbrokes Cockram Stakes (Group 3) - 1200 metres:

Divine Chills - Stewards acceded to a request from trainer John Sadler to withdraw the mare due to the track upgrade and Divine Chills was subsequently a late withdrawal by order of Stewards at 12.50pm.

Written Era - slow to begin.

Fuhryk - when racing keenly in the middle stages, got its head up when being restrained passing the 800m. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight passing the 200m until approaching the 100m. When questioned formally with regard to the tactics in the early stages as to whether it was open to him to take up a more forward positon, albeit in contrast to its normal racing pattern, Craig Williams explained that the mare had never led and won previously. He reiterated he was able to gain a good position early but was simply not suited by the tempo of the race, racing in restricted room and was close enough to the eventual winner on the home turn to be a danger. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Sword Of Light - raced three wide without cover from the 600m.

Miss Cover Girl - became unbalanced at the 700m when its hindquarters were bumped outwards by Jennifer Lynn which, when racing keenly, shifted out away from Fuhryk after being brushed by that mare. Raced four wide without cover. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities other than the mare had lost its near hind plate.

Savanna Amour - held up for clear running from the 400m until near the 200m and then steadied for a few strides before obtaining clear running to the inside of Foreign Affair.

Jennifer Lynn - held up for clear running from the 300m until approaching the 100m.

Lyuba - a post race veterinary examination of the mare identified the presence of blood at both nostrils. After scoping, it was the opinion of the RV veterinary surgeon such bleeding was attributable to external trauma. The mare was also found to be lame in the off foreleg and will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.

Race 6 - MyPunter.com The Heath 1100 (Group) - 1100 metres:

So Si Bon - began awkwardly.

Weve Got This - eased down in the straight; rider Craig Newitt was of the view there was something amiss with the gelding. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities other than the gelding had lost its near fore plate.

Sheidel - rider Craig Williams said his mount was under pressure at the top of the straight and failed to finish the race off. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken for analysis.

Voodoo Lad - pulled up distressed after the race and will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.

Race 7 - New Zealand Bloodstock Memsie Stakes (Group 1) - 1400 metres:

Charmed Harmony - Stewards acceded to a request from trainer John Sadler to withdraw the gelding due to the track upgrade and Charmed Harmony was subsequently a late withdrawal by order of Stewards at 12.50pm.

Black Heart Bart - underwent a veterinary examination after arriving on course and was passed suitable to race.

Humidor (NZ) - slow to begin.

Hey Doc - raced keenly in the middle stages.

I Am A Star (NZ) - steadied at the 500m to avoid the heels of Tosen Stardom (JPN).

Tosen Stardom (JPN) - held up near the 400m before shifting in to gain clear running shortly after.

Jon Snow (NZ) - steadied passing the 200m when tightened for room between Black Heart Bart, which shifted in slightly, and Hey Doc which shifted out slightly.

Yankee Rose - rider Dean Yendall got his whip entangled in the reins for several strides near the 200m after dropping his off-side rein. Trainer David Vandyke reported that the mare was lame in the near foreleg on return to the stable after it shifted a plate during the event and a veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again.

Race 8 - Dream Thoroughbreds Heatherlie Stakes (Listed) - 1700 metres:

Assign (IRE) - connections advised would be ridden positively; led.

Amralah (IRE) - connections advised would be ridden positively; settled behind the leaders. Steadied at the 1100m to avoid the heels of Assign (IRE) which was shifting in.

Vengeur Masque (IRE) - began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly.

Harlem (GB) - slow into stride before then having to steady to avoid the heels of Amralah (IRE), which shifted out.

Don Doremo (NZ) - slow to begin.

Ventura Storm (IRE) - steadied passing the 1500m to avoid the heels of Tally which shifted out to avoid the heels of Amelies Star. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse had been galloped on the near foreleg and will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.

Magnapal - forced out off its course by Guardini (FR) approaching the 400m. Checked passing the 200m when tightened for room between Dulverton and Harlem (GB), which initially shifted out away from Tiamo Grace after being brushed by that mare which had shifted out seeking a clear run.

Dulverton - crowded for room and had to be checked approaching the 400m. Steadied passing the 200m after being tightened for room between Amelies Star and Magnapal which had been taken out by Harlem (GB) which had shifted out away from Tiamo Grace. Whilst the degree of interference was severe the Stewards were not comfortably satisfied to lay a charge against Mark Zahra (Harlem (GB)) for shifting out given the significant crowding leading up to the incident when the rider of Tiamo Grace was attempting to shift out to obtain clear running.

Tiamo Grace - held up for clear running from the 300m until approaching the 100m.

Brad Rawiller (Guardini (FR)) - pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the carelessness being that he rode his mount out approaching the 400m forcing Magnapal out off its course into the path of Dulverton resulting in Dulverton being crowded for room and having to be restrained to avoid the heels of Magnapal. Brad Rawiller had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight September 2nd and to expire at midnight September 12th, a total of ten race meetings (two metropolitan, eight provincial). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his guilty plea and good record and that the carelessness was in the mid-range.

Race 9 - Comcater Handicap - 1400 metres:

Yesterdays Songs - Stewards acceded to a request from trainer Mike Moroney to withdraw the gelding due to the track upgrade and Yesterdays Songs was subsequently a late withdrawal by order of Stewards at 4.20pm. Deductions: double bets 18 cents in the dollar.

Divine Mr Artie - after being loaded in its starting stall became fractious and reared, underwent a veterinary examination and was subsequently a late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 5.26pm. The start of the race was delayed slightly and the gelding must now gain further approval in a jump out prior to racing again. All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on Divine Mr Artie to be refunded.  All successful bets on horses prior to 5.26pm are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket: win bets - 14 cents, place bets (for winner) - 11 cents, place bets (for 2nd) - 12 cents, place bets (for 3rd) - 15 cents and double bets 14 cents.

Dodging Bullets - raced keenly through the early and middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 300m and the 200m.

Chocolate Holic - raced three wide without cover.

Great Esteem - held up for clear running from the 400m until approaching the 200m.
