Maloney appeal over 12 meeting suspension on Wednesday

The Victorian Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board will hear an appeal by jockey Ryan Maloney at 4.15pm on Wednesday, 8 November 2017.

Mr Maloney has lodged an appeal against the severity of the penalty imposed by stewards when he pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding on his mount Eptimum in Race 5 the Coolmore Stud Stakes (Group 1, 1200m) at Flemington on Saturday, 4 November 2017.

Mr Maloney had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight on Tuesday, 7 November 2017 and to expire at the conclusion of the day meeting on Friday, 17 November 2017 – a total of 12 race meetings (2 metro, 10 provincial).

A stay of proceedings was not requested.
