All horses competing in Race 7 were subject to Group 1 security protocols.

Race 1 - The Carbine Club Stakes (Group 3) - 1600 metres:

Almighty - connections advised would be ridden forward with the blinkers on; settled in a handy position behind the leaders. Held up from the 400m before gaining clear running near the 100m.

Snitzepeg - began awkwardly and lost ground.

Gaulois - began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout.

Give - over-raced in the early stages. Had to be eased near the 300m to avoid the heels of Levendi (Ben Melham) which shifted out when not fully clear. Had to be steadied approaching the 100m when tightened for room between Octabello, which shifted out, and Hypnotist which was taken in by Rellson (NZ) which shifted in abruptly before being straightened by its rider.

Beau Geste - held up when unable to improve its position from the 600m until shifting out to obtain a clear run passing the 200m.

Sambro - laid in under pressure in the straight.

Levendi - rider Ben Melham was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift out near the 300m when not fully clear of Give.

Hypnotist - approaching the winning post raced in restricted room between Octabello and Rellson (NZ).

Race 2 - G H Mumm Wakeful Stakes (Group 2) - 2000 metres:

Sheezdashing - began awkwardly.

Cabierro - began awkwardly. Rider James Winks reported that the filly felt amiss and as a result he eased it down in the straight. An irregular heart rhythm was detected on post race veterinary examination.  The filly shall not start in any race until the Stewards have received a satisfactory veterinary report.  The report must include the results of an ECG performed at rest and cardiac auscultation performed within thirty minutes of completing a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000m.

Snogging - began awkwardly.

Berkshire Lady - slow to begin. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Brushed on the hindquarters near the 300m by Smooth Landing and became unbalanced.

Rimraam (NZ) - a post race veterinary examination revealed the filly had been galloped on the near hind fetlock.

Bring Me Roses - unplaced favourite; rider Mark Zahra reported that the filly pulled hard in the early stages and as a result failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly had sustained an abrasion to its off hind cannon and a swab sample was taken for analysis.

Mark Zahra (Bring Me Roses) - pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the carelessness being that near the 1400m he permitted his mount to shift in taking Lucky Louie in onto Miss Admiration (NZ) which lost its rightful running. Mark Zahra had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight November 7th and to expire at the conclusion of the day meeting on November 16th, a total of ten race meetings (two metropolitan, eight provincial). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his guilty plea and good record and that the carelessness was in the mid-range.

Race 3 - Skip Sprint (Group 3) - 1100 metres:

Sheidel - began awkwardly. Rider Blake Shinn reported that the mare raced flat. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken for analysis.

Crystal Fountain (NZ) - began awkwardly.

Savanna Amour - held up when unable to improve its position from the 600m until gaining clear running near the 200m.

Lake Como (NZ) - rider Stephen Baster was of the opinion his mount would be better suited on a track with more give. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Race 4 - Lexus Stakes (Group 3) - 2500 metres:

Harlem (GB) - began awkwardly. Rider Dwayne Dunn was of the opinion his mount failed to stay the trip and would be better suited over 2000m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have an injury to its left eye and will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.

Aloft (IRE) - marginally slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages before being allowed to stride forward and sit outside the leader near the 1700m.

Pentathlon (NZ) - rider Jye McNeil was fined the sum of $1000 under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using his whip nine times prior to the 100m, which is four times prior to the 100m. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account the totality of his whip use.

Cismontane (NZ) - rider Stephen Baster was fined the sum of $3000 under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using his whip ten times prior to the 100m, which is five times more than permitted. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account that the gelding was laying inwards, the fact it was a staying race, his totality of whip use in that he used it on only two occasions over the final 100m and that he won the race.

Race 5 - Coolmore Stud Stakes (Group 1) - 1200 metres:

Houtzen - began awkwardly resulting in rider Jeff Lloyd becoming unbalanced. Had to be checked near the 1000m when tightened by The Mission which was taken in by Malahat (Oliver Peslier)

Catchy - had to be severely checked passing the 300m which was tightened by Goodfella which in turn was tightened by Eptimum (Ryan Maloney). Rider Hugh Bowman reported that after meeting with interference near the 300m, the filly did not let down as anticipated. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken for analysis.

Goodfella - had to be checked when crowded passing the 300m when tightened by Eptimum (Ryan Maloney).

Oliver Peslier (Malahat) - pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the carelessness being that near the 1000m he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of The Mission resulting in that horse being taken in onto Houtzen which had to be checked. Oliver Peslier had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight November 7th and to expire at midnight November 16th, a total of eleven race meetings (two metropolitan, nine provincial). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his guilty plea and good record and that the carelessness was in the mid-range.

Oliver Peslier pleaded guilty to a further charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the carelessness being that approaching the 900m he continued to let his mount shift in when not clear of Eptimum resulting in Eptimum being taken in causing Jukebox having to be checked.  Oliver Peslier had his licence to ride in races suspended for a total of eleven race meetings (two metropolitan, nine provincial) and is to be served concurrently with his previous suspension. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his guilty plea and good record and that the carelessness was in the mid-range.

Ryan Maloney (Eptimum) - pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the carelessness being that passing the 300m he allowed his mount to shift out whilst riding along, resulting in crowding to Goodfella which ultimately had to be checked, and in turn caused interference to Catchy which had to be checked severely. Ryan Maloney had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight November 7th and to expire at the conclusion of the day meeting on November 17th, a total of twelve race meetings (two metropolitan, ten provincial).
