Melham and Allen appeal hearings on Monday

The Victorian Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board will hear the following appeals on Monday, 9 October 2017:

9.30am – Ben Melham

Mr Melham has lodged an appeal against the decision of the stewards and severity of the penalty imposed when he was found guilty of a charge of careless riding on his mount Keysor in Race 2 at Ballarat on Thursday, 5 October 2017. Mr Melham had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight on Saturday, 7 October 2017 and to expire at midnight on Sunday, 15 October 2017 – a total of 9 race meetings (1 metro, 8 provincial).

A stay of proceedings was not requested.

10.30am – John Allen

Mr Allen has lodged an appeal against the severity of the penalty imposed by stewards when he pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding on his mount Street Boy in Race 4 at Ballarat on Thursday, 5 October 2017. Mr Allen had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight on Saturday, 7 October 2017 and to expire at midnight on Saturday, 14 October 2017 – a total of 8 race meetings (1 metro, 7 provincial).

A stay of proceedings was not requested.
