RACE 5 [TF1410]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Friday, 24 November 2017, App CC Wong, the rider of HIGHLIGHT, in the presence of his Master, Trainer D Hill, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding HIGHLIGHT in Race 5 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 10 November 2017, approaching the 1100m, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear, resulting in BIG REGARDS (R Shafiq) having to be checked.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from App Wong that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 01 December 2017 and Sunday, 03 December 2017.

The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 04 December 2017 until Sunday, 07 January 2018 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

SUNDAY, 12 NOVEMBER 2017:

RACE 5 [TF1434]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Friday, 24 November 2017, Jockey V Duric, the rider of FIRST LIGHT, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding FIRST LIGHT in Race 5 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 12 November 2017, passing the 300m, he made insufficient effort to straighten his mount, thereby allowing it to shift inwards, resulting in BAYU (W Pike) and ELITE WARRIOR (R Shafiq) having to be checked.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey Duric that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 01 December 2017 and Sunday, 03 December 2017.

The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 04 December 2017 until Sunday, 07 January 2018 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Sunday, 26 November 2017, App S Shafrizal, the rider of BEST WISHES, in the presence of his Master, Trainer M Clements, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding BEST WISHES in Race 1 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 24 November 2017, approaching the 600m, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear, resulting in REACH FOR THE SUN (App CC Wong) having to be checked.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. App Shafrizal was suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 27 November 2017 to Sunday, 03 December 2017 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.
