David suspended for two days
03 Oct 2017 | Singapore Stewards

RACE 1 [TF1097]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Sunday, 01 October 2017, Jockey D David, the rider of SIR REGINALD, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding SIR REGINALD in Race 1 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 01 September 2017, near the 1200m, he permitted his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear, resulting in MISS WAIMATAITAI (V Duric), HEE'S FORTE (App N Nurshahril) and TEMBUSU ESTRELA (G Boss) all being crowded for room, with MISS WAIMATAITAI being hampered and losing ground, and HEE'S FORTE and TEMBUSU ESTRELA having to be checked.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey David that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 06 October 2017 and Sunday, 08 October 2017.

The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 09 October 2017 until Sunday, 15 October 2017 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
