Du Plessis and McKeon in fall
11 Dec 2010 | by Jeff Dore

A race fall at Tauranga on Friday resulted in riders Mark Du Plessis and Gavin McKeon suffering injuries when falling from their mounts.
Taken to hospital following the incident, both were reported at the time to be in moderate condition and suffering with injuries to their lumbar regions, while subsequently it was also found that Du Plessis had hurt a hip.
Although both reported to be battered and bruised, they were discharged from hospital later on the same night.
The injuries forced Du Plessis to forego eight mounts at Te Rapa today (Saturday), while he has also had to give up the mount on Green Birdie in Group I Hong Kong International Sprint at Sha Tin on Sunday.
