Selections preview for Awapuni
09 Nov 2010 | by Jeff Dore

PREVIEW

TUESDAY November 9 2010

Rangitikei Racing Club at Awapuni
Fine and Good3 (2.3 – 2.5)
Rail: out 5 metres

Horses previewed in numerical order

Race 9             Rating 70 1400m

1 MASTER NAGOL – Mathew Ward (3)
Back in grade after having no room in the straight when back in the field resuming from a spell behind Inok at Otaki over 1200m on Good3. From barrier one he should receive an economical trip, three of his four wins have been over this 1400m distance, and weight relief is a definite assist.

7 KAAPDIVA – Mark Hills
She indicated a return to form when closing off solidly for fourth to Animate from well back in the field at Te Awamutu over 1400m on Good2 at her third start following a spell. From a wide draw at her only course attempt she staged a big run from the rear for second to Deputy. She won her Maiden over 1400m and while there is a tendency to be slowly away hopefully barrier four will aid her prospects.

10 MONACHEE – Lisa Allpress
Having shown in the past she is capable of reaching a higher grade, with solid performances in better fields, she resumed from spell at her previous start when finding the line for seventh at New Plymouth over 1400m on Dead6. She should have derived benefit from that outing, won her Maiden on good ground, and has the services of the right rider.
