Horses previewed in numerical order

Race 7             Rating 80 1350m

2 HEREDITY – Matthew Cameron
Resuming from a lengthy spell, he has had two trials to fit him for this assignment after ending his previous campaign in solid form. He has placed in two of his three starts in a fresh state, both wins recorded with this rider aboard and has displayed enough ability to be competitive from a handy gate on good footing if forward enough to resume.

3 MISS SHARAPOVA – Michael Coleman
She found the line solidly for third from the rear of a small resuming behind Fledgling at Rotorua over 1200m on slow footing, with Fazzle, the second horse, winning impressively since. Last season as a three-year-old she won twice on good footing over 1300m and 1400m respectively before proving up to the best fillies with a fourth in the NZ Oaks. She has a stiff task off a wide gate, and while likely to improve further with the run she has ability to threaten with a favourable trip on good ground.

5 NO FEAR – Allan Peard
He resumed from a spell with a top performance for fourth to Celeris when emerging out of the pack at Ellerslie over 1200m on Good3. He showed when winning twice on good footing over a mile last season that he can run sharp time off the front. With the likelihood of similar tactics being applied he should make his presence felt if further improved.
