Selections preview for New Plymouth
21 Oct 2010 | by Jeff Dore

PREVIEW

THURSDAY October 21 2010

Taranaki Thoroughbred Racing Incorporated at New Plymouth
Overcast and Dead6 (3.3 – 3.5)
Rail: out 4 metres

Horses previewed in numerical order

Race 8             Rating 80 1800m

2 DOWNLOADED – James McDonald
Presented very well before bolting in under smart ride by this jockey on his home track at Te Awamutu over 1580m on Dead4, with two placed performances on heavy going at her two previous start suggesting she was in the right fettle to win. Up in grade and distance for this assignment, but seems to be going as well now as any stage of her career.

4 TWOEEZY – Opie Bosson
Notable in each of two outings since resuming from a spell, the most recent finding the line from back in the field off a leader bias at Matamata over 1600m on Slow7. He impressed winning on good ground over 1600m, has contested stronger races, and has combined with this rider in victory previously.

7 SPARTANICUS – Rosie Myers
No chance when blocked in straight after racing back in the field at Hawera over 1600m on Slow7 off a let-up, same rider, he recorded his Maiden victory second-up in the month of October. He won in the same grade over 1800m for this jockey off a genuine pace at his only course attempt, and from barrier one should receive a reasonable trip.
