Selections preview for Pukekohe
13 Oct 2010 | by Jeff Dore

PREVIEW

WEDNESDAY October 13 2010

Counties Racing Club at Pukekohe
Cloudy and Slow8 (3.9 – 4.2)
Rail: out 5 metres

Horses previewed in numerical order

Race 9             Rating 80 2100m

3 MES YEUX BLEUS – Jason Collett
Back in grade and up in distance after not being disgraced when resuming from a spell in a competitive race at Ruakaka over 1600m on Slow7, she dashed late to win her only course attempt over the same 2100m distance on Dead4 in May when second-up from a spell, same rider. She recorded a smart Maiden win in October last year at Avondale over 2100m on Dead6 and has the right credentials to force the issue.

5 DAMIANI – Mark Du Plessis
Notable efforts for third and fourth respectively at two starts at Te Rapa over 1600m on heavy going, she won at a similar time in October last season over 1580m on Slow8, same rider. Her two wins have been recorded on slow ground. Placed in two of three starts over this distance, blinkers on, and seems ideally placed to make an impact.

7 MAGNA CARTA – James McDonald
Followed his Maiden win at Ruakaka over 2100m on Dead5 with a spirited victory over promising galloper Deep Forest when the pair drew clear at Ellerslie over 2100m on heavy footing, same rider. Up in grade but confronted with the same trip, he should present in the right condition to threaten.
