Selections preview for Taupo
06 Oct 2010 | by Jeff Dore

PREVIEW

WEDNESDAY October 6 2010

Racing Taupo at Taupo
Overcast and Dead4 (2.6 – 2.8)
Rail: out 2 metres

Horses previewed in numerical order

Race 10           Rating 70 1200m

2 HINEMOA – Harry Kasim (3)
Consistent performer resuming from spell, she never finished further back than fourth while registering a win over 1200m in seven starts to date. She stems from a useful family, has the benefit of a three-kilo allowance and should appreciate a touch of give in the track.

5 GOLDMINER – Chad Ormsby
Resuming from a let-up, she ended her first three start campaign with a strong win under hands and heels at Ruakaka over 1200m on Dead6. On debut, following a first and second from only two trials, she was narrowly beaten over 1000m on slow footing, and the good strike rate of her stable should ensure she is ready to act.

11 ST J’ADORE – Opie Bosson
She resumed from a spell with a solid performance off a tough run for fourth to Askmeagain in a competitive race at Ruakaka over 1000m on Dead5. Ending her previous campaign she led the Foal Stakes to the 200m, won by Smoulder, at Ellerslie over 1400m on Slow8 footing which is too testing for her. Her second-up win on good ground at Avondale over 1200m showed she has ability, and as a front runner should prove competitive providing the track is okay.
