Victorian jockey Michael Walker will continue his blossoming association with UK stayer A Prince Of Arran in next month's Hong Kong Jockey Club Group 1 LONGINES Hong Kong Vase (2400m).
The pair combined to win Saturday's Group 3 Lexus Stakes (2500m) before running a gallant third in Tuesday's Lexus Melbourne Cup (3200m), and Walker confirmed that trainer Charlie Fellowes was keen to see them team up again in the HK$20 million feature at Sha Tin on December 9.
"We had an inkling on Tuesday that he could be invited for the Hong Kong Vase," Walker said.
"I sent Charlie (Fellowes) a text this morning to see how the horse was and he said that he was beautiful and that he'd love me to ride him (in Hong Kong).
"The horse on Tuesday ran out of his skin and I still believe that if he didn't have to run on Saturday, he would've had that turn of foot at the end."
It will continue the 2018 international odyssey for Fellowes and A Prince Of Arran, who has tackled races in Dubai, England and Australia.
