Race 1 STRATH HAVEN PRESTON SPRINT PLATE - 1000 metres:

Tagaloa Change of tactics Attempt to be ridden more forward. Raced outside the leader. Cast a plate, re-shod behind the barriers. This delayed the start of the race approximately four minutes.

Narvaez Began awkwardly, shifted in and hampered The Big Easy. Rider Brad Rawiller reported the colt felt uncomfortable racing amongst other runners.

The Big Easy Slow to begin and hampered at the start.

Flinders River Jumped away awkwardly.

Soomayya Jumped away awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Rider Michael Dee reported the filly had a hard run throughout, being caught wide without cover, however he was disappointed with the performance today. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Baaqyah (NZ) Raced four wide without cover.

 

Race 2 CARNSWORTH NOBLE PARK HANDICAP - 1600 metres:

Maserartie Bay Near the 700 metres commenced to over race and had to be steadied off the heels of November Dreaming and as a result bumped Balaabel which then raced wide.

Balaabel Bumped and taken wider near the 700 metres and from this point raced four wide without cover.

November Dreaming Inconvenienced near the 1200 metres when taken off its course by Jimmys Secret (Dean Yendall), which shifted out. D Yendall was notified to exercise more care. Lay out under pressure from the 400 metres.

 

Race 3 CONDARE COURT TANDERRA HANDICAP - 1000 metres:

Prior to the declaration of correct weight Jye McNeil (Causeway Girl), 3rd placegetter, viewed the stewards' video before deciding not to lodge an objection.

Equal Love Jumped away awkwardly. Steadied approaching the 200 metres when laying out across the heels of Shotgun Rosie.

Bella Vella Raced three wide without cover.

Shotgun Rosie Raced four wide without cover.

Causeway Girl Approaching the 300 metres shifted out away from Fill The Flute and brushed Bella Vella.

Be My Star Held up for clear running from the 400 metres until passing the 150 metres.

Fill The Flute Weakened from the 200 metres. App Georgina Cartwright could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Cantforgetyou - Post race veterinary examination identified the presence of blood at both nostrils. Cantforgetyou shall not without permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months thereafter; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward.

 

Race 4 MURRAY NANGATTA HANDICAP - 1000 metres:

Thermal Current Slow to begin.

Lagerfeld Raced keenly in the early stages.

Jungle Edge App Michael Poy reported the gelding would derive benefit from todays first up run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.

Yulong Yuheng A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have the thumps.

 

Race 5 STRATHDON BOX HILL HANDICAP - 1500 metres:

Trigger Point Jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride. App Teodore Nugent reported the gelding may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Talenti Commenced to over race approaching the 600 metres and as a result had to be checked off the heels of Manhattan Arch.

 

Race 6 LADBROKES CASH IN HANDICAP - 1200 metres:

Pristine Image Change of tactics From the good barrier to be ridden more forward. Settled just behind mid-field.

Three Beans Jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and bumped Somals, which also jumped away awkwardly. Passing the 200 metres brushed and became unbalanced by Rubisaki, which shifted out to obtain a run.

Somals Jumped away awkwardly and was bumped by Three Beans.

Cosmic Rhapsody Jumped away awkwardly. Got its head up when over racing in the early stages.

South Street Boss Raced three wide without cover.

Alburq Held up for a short distance approaching the 200 metres.

Hackeress Near the 700 metres had to be steadied away from the heels of Three Beans. Unbalanced near the 200 metres.

Magnetism Tightened near the 200 metres. Rider Luke Nolen reported his mount was under pressure from the 600 metres and thought there may have been something amiss with the mare. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Jye McNeil (Rubisaki) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provision of AR131(a). The careless riding being that near the 200 metres he rode his mount in to obtain clear running and in doing so made contact with Hackeress which then shifted in and tightened the running of Magnetism. During the incident Hackeress became unbalanced. J McNeil had his licence to ride in races suspended for a total of eleven meetings to commence midnight 1 December, 2019 and to expire at the end of the day meeting 13 December, 2019 (4 metro, 7 provincial). In assessing penalty the Stewards were of the view that the incident qualified for the mid-range category of carelessness and took into account his guilty plea and record.

Race 7 ACE SEATING HANDICAP - 1600 metres:

Sure Knee Raced keenly in the early stages.

Vanuatu Rider Clayton Douglas reported the mare raced flat. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Shahzade Hampered near the 600 metres. Rider Dwayne Dunn reported his mount was under pressure and after meeting interference near the 600 metres it was beaten horse. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Tata Da Goose App Lachlan King was notified to ride all of his mounts out to the end of the race.

App Thomas Stockdale (Snogging) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provision of AR131(a). The careless riding being that near the 600 metres he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of Shahzade making contact with that mare and tightening its running between Snogging and Sure Knee and as a result being hampered. T Stockdale had his permit to ride in races suspended for a total of eight meetings to commence midnight 4 December, 2019 and to expire midnight 12 December, 2019. (3 metro, 5 provincial). In assessing penalty the Stewards were of the view that the incident qualified for the low range category of carelessness and took into account his guilty plea and record.

Race 8 KINGSVILLE MANOR LAKES HANDICAP - 2040 metres:

Savaheat (NZ) Change of tactics To be ridden more forward. Settled behind the leading horses. Rider Michael Dee reported that, in his opinion, the gelding may be better suited over shorter distances than todays event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Danon Roman (JPN) Fractious in the barrier and got its leg up. Underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. Held up from the 500 metres until the 300 metres.

Sir Pippin Slow to begin.

Kilimanjaro (IRE) - Raced three wide without cover in the early and middle stages before striding to sit outside the leader near the 1200 metres.

Secret Blaze Raced three wide without cover in the middle stages.

Etana Held up from the 400 metres before shifting out to gain clear running approaching the 200 metres.

Rupture When questioned rider Dean Holland advised that he was instructed to settle the gelding with cover where possible as it has a tendency to over race. He added that he anticipated settling in a forward position with cover, however, after settling well in the early stages he ended up being further back than anticipated.

 

Race 9 DAEMCO HANDICAP - 1200 metres:

Asgard Massif Change of tactics Attempt to be ridden more conservatively. Settled mid-field.

Chicago Cub Began awkwardly. Held up from the 400 metres until near the 150 metres.

Princeton Spirit (NZ) Raced three wide without cover.

Street Life Passing the 700 metres shifted out to avoid the heels of Spirit Of Aquada and as a result inconvenienced Gold Mag (NZ).

Mumbles Near the 700 metres commenced to over race and then had to be steadied away from the heels of Spirit Of Aquada.

Morrissy Held up for clear running from the 400 metres until passing the 300 metres. Passing the 250 metres clipped the heels of Blue Tycoon, when again help up for clear running. App Lachlan King was reprimanded for attempting a run where there was insufficient room and notified to exercise more care.

Gold Mag (NZ) App Lewis German could offer no explanation for the performance. An irregular heart rhythm was detected on post-race veterinary examination. Gold Mag shall not start in any race until the Stewards have received a satisfactory veterinary report. The report must include the results of an ECG performed at rest and cardiac auscultation performed within 30 minutes of completing a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000 metres.

Mumbles Rider James Winks reported the gelding was fractious pre-race and over race in the early and middle stages which was detrimental to its chances in finishing the race off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.

Santorini Summer Stable advised the gelding pulled up satisfactorily and they will be continuing with his preparation. They may add blinkers for next start.

Ballarat 23/11/2019

 

Ginas Hope Trainer advised the mare pulled up satisfactorily and will be going for a spell.

 

Big Reel Trainer advised it pulled up well however may not have appreciated the track conditions. He added it would be sent for a brief spell.

 

Zorros Dream Trainer advised the colt pulled up satisfactorily and will be going for a bone scan next week.

 

Great Again Trainer advised it had pulled up well however it had now been sent for a spell.

 

Esperance Trainer advised they are continuing on with his preparation, provided there are no further veterinary abnormalities.

Kyneton 26/11/2019

Bakery Hill (NZ) Stable advised the horse pulled up satisfactorily and will continue with his preparation. They will reassess after a gallop next week.

Sandown 27/11/2019

Think Im Dreaming Trainer advised the mare may have jarred up and would appreciated tracks with more give. They will continue with her preparation and trial her sometime next week.
