Race:1 (722) CHAI WAN ROAD HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 4 1200 m

On arrival at the Start, Z Purton expressed concern regarding the action of WINNING SUPREME. WINNING SUPREME was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had a restricted action in both front legs and was mildly lame in the right front leg and accordingly was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, WINNING SUPREME was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, WINNING SUPREME will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
FREE VIEW began only fairly and then was crowded for room on jumping between SHANGHAI RUSKY and ALL YOU NEED which shifted out. In this incident, FREE VIEW bumped the hindquarters of SHANGHAI RUSKY which became unbalanced. After this, SHANGHAI RUSKY was steadied to obtain cover.
From wide barriers, SWEETIE BARLEY and V CHEVALIERS were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 1100 Metres, ALL YOU NEED travelled keenly when being steadied to obtain cover behind SPEEDY MISSILE.
Near the 1050 Metres, SPEEDY MISSILE was awkwardly placed outside BULB ELITE which shifted ground marginally. SPEEDY MISSILE was then steadied to obtain cover, resulting in ALL YOU NEED, which was racing close to the heels of SPEEDY MISSILE, being momentarily awkwardly placed behind that horse.
Near the 950 Metres, SOLAR BILLION raced in restricted room between GENTLE BREEZE and SPEEDY MISSILE.
ALL YOU NEED made the first turn near the 900 Metres awkwardly, shifted out and inconvenienced V CHEVALIERS.
After the 900 Metres, SHANGHAI RUSKY shifted out towards SWEETIE BARLEY. SHANGHAI RUSKY then lost ground near the 800 Metres when momentarily awkwardly placed inside SWEETIE BARLEY which lay in.
Approaching and passing the 800 Metres, SPEEDY MISSILE travelled keenly and raced close to the heels of VICTORIAM.
Approaching the 300 Metres, SOLAR BILLION was awkwardly placed outside the heels of GENTLE BREEZE.
For the majority of the race, BREAK RECORD travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, it was reported that SHANGHAI RUSKY had sustained a wound to the outside of the right front fetlock.
A veterinary inspection of BULB ELITE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BULB ELITE, VICTORIAM and SOLAR BILLION were sent for sampling.

Race:2 (723) LEI YUE MUN PARK HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 5 1200 m

M REBORN, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 6.6.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, M REBORN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
TEST THE STARS bounded in the air as the start was effected and then was ridden along in the early stages to obtain a more forward position.
SHOW MISSION began awkwardly and then was crowded for room outside YOUNG EMPIRE which also began awkwardly and shifted out.
From wide barriers, ADONIS, ROYAL PREROGATIVE, ROOKIE STAR and RAICHU were all steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
ADONIS made the turn near the 900 Metres awkwardly and shifted out towards the heels of ROYAL PREROGATIVE, resulting in ROOKIE STAR and RAICHU being taken wider. RAICHU, which was racing very wide, was then steadied after the 800 Metres to obtain a position with cover behind ROOKIE STAR.
After the 900 Metres, ROYAL PREROGATIVE was left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 700 Metres, NASHASHUK got its head up on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed behind SUPER MODEL.
Approaching the 600 Metres, ROOKIE STAR was bumped by ADONIS which shifted out.
Approaching the 500 Metres, NASHASHUK got its head on the side and lay out and then made the turn after the 500 Metres awkwardly. After this, NASHASHUK continued to lay out under pressure.. After the race, J Moreira stated that NASHASHUK raced very disappointingly as, other than wanting to lay out during the latter stages of the race, he was unable to offer any explanation for the horse’s failure to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of NASHASHUK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Rounding the Home Turn, ROOKIE STAR raced tight outside ADONIS which shifted to the outside of ROYAL PREROGATIVE to obtain clear running.
Passing the 250 Metres, ROYAL PREROGATIVE was awkwardly placed outside NASHASHUK as that horse lay out.
Over the concluding stages, SHOW MISSION was awkwardly placed behind SUPER MODEL.
When questioned, H N Wong (AMBITIOUS SPEEDY) stated that he was able to obtain a midfield position in the early stages and making the first turn was following the eventual winner SUPER MODEL. He said when NASHASHUK commenced to shift in near the 900 Metres, he rode his mount along to prevent that horse from being able to shift in, however, AMBITIOUS SPEEDY would not respond to his riding and he was not able to maintain his position. He said after this AMBITIOUS SPEEDY appeared to be reluctant to race amongst runners but nonetheless when obtaining clear running in the Straight was very disappointing in the manner in which it failed to quicken and then did not finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of AMBITIOUS SPEEDY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on both SUPER MODEL and TEST THE STARS at the request of Trainers C S Shum and D J Hall respectively. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that these examinations showed a substantial amount of blood in the trachea of both horses. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER MODEL and TEST THE STARS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
SUPER MODEL and ADONIS were sent for sampling.

Race:3 (724) TUEN MUN PUBLIC RIDING SCHOOL HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 3 1000 m

Approaching the 600 Metres, UTOPIA LIFE shifted out and made contact with HARBOUR ALERT which in turn bumped the hindquarters of THANKS FOREVER.
For the majority of the race, ORIONIDS hung in.
Also for the majority of the race, SHARP STYLE lay out.
The performance of KA YING LEGEND, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, KA YING LEGEND will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, C Schofield (WAYFOONG VINNIE) expressed concern regarding the action of the horse. WAYFOONG VINNIE was subsequently examined by the Veterinary Officer who said there were no significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, WAYFOONG VINNIE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Also after the race, it was reported that ORIONIDS had bled from both nostrils and HARBOUR ALERT was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, HARBOUR ALERT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
THANKS FOREVER and MULTIMILLION were sent for sampling.

Race:4 (725) POK FU LAM PUBLIC RIDING SCHOOL HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 5 1400 m

GAINFULJET shifted in abruptly at the start and bumped DELIGHT EXPRESS which became unbalanced and lost ground.
SOCCER MASTER began only fairly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of BIG BULLY. SOCCER MASTER was then steadied away from the heels of HURRICANE HUNTER when taken in by BIG BULLY which was taken in by FOX CHEUNGER (A Domeyer) which, after being bumped by KEEP GOING, then shifted in further when being ridden along. A Domeyer was told that whilst the Stewards accepted that KEEP GOING had shifted in initially, nonetheless in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts so as to make every endeavour to prevent them from shifting ground and crowding other runners.
GREAT SON began awkwardly, shifted in and inconvenienced XIANG HUANG QI.
From wide barriers, LIVERBIRD STAR, LUCKY STORM and LOTUS BREEZE were all steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
At the 1000 Metres, FOX CHEUNGER lay in when awkwardly placed behind SUREWIN, resulting in DELIGHT EXPRESS being momentarily crowded for room.
Also at the 1000 Metres, KEEP GOING was left racing wide and without cover.
Making the turn near the 900 Metres, HURRICANE HUNTER got its head up when racing close to the heels of FOX CHEUNGER.
Passing the 700 Metres, LUCKY STORM got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of HURRICANE HUNTER, resulting in LIVERBIRD STAR being inconvenienced and LUCKY STORM losing ground.
Near the 550 Metres, GAINFULJET shifted out and bumped SUREWIN. GAINFULJET then had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
SOCCER MASTER was unable to obtain clear running until approaching the 300 Metres.
LIVERBIRD STAR lay out approaching and passing the 300 Metres.
Near the 250 Metres, DELIGHT EXPRESS was steadied away from the heels of SOCCER MASTER which, after improving to the inside of GAINFULJET, was taken in by that horse.
A veterinary inspection of GREAT SON, SUREWIN and KEEP GOING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
HURRICANE HUNTER and BIG BULLY were sent for sampling.

Race:5 (726) LEI YUE MUN PUBLIC RIDING SCHOOL HANDICAP (Sec2) Class 4 1200 m

BINGO was withdrawn on 7.6.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (inflamed right fore medial fetlock) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FARM BUMPER (M F Poon). Before being allowed to race again, BINGO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
WHAT A LEGEND began awkwardly and shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters by GOLDEN TURBO which was crowded for room inside JOY MASTER which was directed in by SHINING ACE which shifted ground as J Moreira attempted to place his left foot back in the stirrup iron after he lost the use of that iron on jumping.
From the outside barriers, ALPHABET INVENTION, BEST FOR YOU and SLEEP EDUCATION were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 1000 Metres, SHINING ACE was awkwardly placed outside the heels of MANFUL STAR.
When being steadied to allow FANTASTIC FABIO to cross near the 900 Metres, FARM BUMPER commenced to prove very difficult to settle and got its head up for some distance. FARM BUMPER was then allowed to improve its position to remain racing inside FANTASTIC FABIO.
Passing the 900 Metres, WHAT A LEGEND lost ground when crowded for room inside BETTER CHOICE which shifted in when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SHINING ACE which was awkwardly placed behind MANFUL STAR as that horse steadied to allow FANTASTIC FABIO to cross. GOLDEN TURBO, which was following, was checked away from the heels of WHAT A LEGEND in consequence, shifted out and bumped JOY MASTER. JOY MASTER and GOLDEN TURBO then raced tight for some distance until passing the 750 Metres at which time JOY MASTER became awkward near the heels of SUN SUN FA FA. ALPHABET INVENTION, which was following JOY MASTER, was shifted out away from the heels of that horse in consequence.
Near the 550 Metres, MANFUL STAR was taken wider by BETTER CHOICE which shifted to the outside of FANTASTIC FABIO.
In the Straight, WHAT A LEGEND lay out under pressure.
After the race, Z Purton stated that, in his opinion, BETTER CHOICE raced disappointingly. He said after being able to obtain a more forward position from an inside barrier, BETTER CHOICE then did not finish off the race as anticipated. A veterinary inspection of BETTER CHOICE immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, BETTER CHOICE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SHINING ACE and SUN SUN FA FA were sent for sampling.

Race:6 (727) THE HONG KONG RIDING FOR THE DISABLED ASSOCIATION CUP (HANDICAP) (Sec1) Class 4 1800 m

CHEERFUL STAR was withdrawn on 7.6.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, CHEERFUL STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
MANAGEMENT STAR stood flat-footed as the start was effected and lost a significant amount of ground. Having regard to MANAGEMENT STAR’s previous history of having missed the start by considerable distances, the Stewards ruled that that horse will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial before being permitted to race again.
SUPER HERO was slow to begin.
From a wide barrier, YOU HAVE MY WORD was steadied to obtain cover in the early stages.
When being steadied to obtain cover passing the 1500 Metres, MCQUEEN got its head up and raced ungenerously.
At the 1000 Metres, YOU HAVE MY WORD was left racing wide and without cover.
Approaching and passing the 500 Metres, YOU HAVE MY WORD was taken wider by DOR DOR which shifted out to obtain clear running.
After the 500 Metres, KING’S MAN raced tight outside MANAGEMENT STAR which was shifting to the outside of VICTORIOUS SEEKER to obtain clear running.
Passing the 400 Metres, SUPER HERO, which was commencing to give ground, was momentarily crowded for room between SHANGHAI DRAGON which was shifting to the outside of BUNDLE OF ENERGY and MCQUEEN which shifted in marginally.
Approaching the 300 Metres, SHANGHAI DRAGON raced tight outside the hindquarters of BUNDLE OF ENERGY.
In the Straight, DOR DOR lay out under pressure.
After the race, Z Purton reported that GARLIC YEAH did not feel comfortable in its action during the race. A veterinary inspection of GARLIC YEAH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, GARLIC YEAH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of SUPER HERO immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER HERO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of MANAGEMENT STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
DOR DOR, GOOD DAYS and MCQUEEN were sent for sampling.

Race:7 (728) LUNG MUN ROAD HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 3 1400 m

Just prior to the start being effected, SURREALISM reared and briefly rested its right front foot on the barrier gate.
MR ALDAN and GUY DRAGON began only fairly.
SUPER MISSILE, which also began only fairly, was steadied shortly after the start when crowded for room between GUY DRAGON and LADY FIRST (K C Leung) which shifted in. K C Leung was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
SURREALISM and KING PRINT were steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
In the early stages, COBY BOY was left racing wide and was steadied after the 1200 Metres to obtain cover.
Making the turn after the 900 Metres, MR ALDAN got its head on the side and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of PRIVATE ROCKET which lay in after being awkwardly placed behind LADY FIRST.
Passing the 600 Metres, SUPER MISSILE came under pressure and then in the early part of the Straight was eased out of the race. A veterinary inspection of SUPER MISSILE immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER MISSILE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Prior to the declaration of weighed-in, C Schofield, the rider of the second placed, GUY DRAGON, viewed the video to determine whether there were grounds for a protest/objection against PRIVATE ROCKET being declared the winner. It was established that near the 150 Metres GUY DRAGON shifted out away from PRIVATE ROCKET which shifted out under pressure and again after the 100 Metres GUY DRAGON shifted out away from PRIVATE ROCKET as that horse shifted out abruptly under pressure. As there was no contact between GUY DRAGON and PRIVATE ROCKET, rather it was a case of GUY DRAGON shifting out away from PRIVATE ROCKET, the matter did not proceed to a formal protest/objection hearing.
STAR MAJESTIC was unable to obtain clear running from passing the 300 Metres until after the 200 Metres.
PRIVATE ROCKET and GUY DRAGON were sent for sampling.

Race:8 (729) POK FU LAM RESERVOIR ROAD HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 4 1400 m

WINWIN THIRTYTHREE was crowded for room on jumping between MISTER MONTE which began awkwardly and KWAI CHUNG ELITE which shifted out. In this incident, MISTER MONTE became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by WINWIN THIRTYTHREE. MISTER MONTE was consequently steadied to obtain cover.
EMPIRE STAR began only fairly.
RED BRICK FIGHTER shifted out at the start and bumped CALIFORNIA LEGEND.
KA YING BRILLIANCE began very awkwardly, shifted in and bumped VITAL SPRING, resulting in KA YING BRILLIANCE becoming unbalanced and M L Yeung losing the use of his right stirrup iron. A short distance after the start, the right stirrup iron flipped up on the saddle, resulting in M L Yeung having to use his right foot to have the stirrup iron resume the position on the right side of the horse. M L Yeung was then able to regain the use of his stirrup iron near the 1200 Metres. M L Yeung stated that it was intended to take up a forward position on KA YING BRILLIANCE, however, as it took him some time to regain the use of his stirrup iron, he was not able to be as prominent as had been intended and was left racing wide and without cover for the majority of the race. A veterinary inspection of KA YING BRILLIANCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
From the outside barriers, MEDIC DRAGON and IRON BRAVO were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Also from a wide barrier, VICTORY SONG was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
Passing the 1100 Metres, THE JUDGE momentarily raced tight inside FUN TIMES which, when travelling keenly, got its head on the side and shifting in away from RED BRICK FIGHTER.
After the 600 Metres, FUN TIMES momentarily raced in restricted room between THE JUDGE and EMPIRE STAR which lay in away from the heels of KA YING BRILLIANCE. 
FUN TIMES had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and near the 350 Metres shifted out away from the heels of KA YING BRILLIANCE, resulting in WINWIN THIRTYTHREE being shifted out away from the heels of FUN TIMES in consequence.
A veterinary inspection of FUN TIMES immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
FUN TIMES, EMPIRE STAR and GRACIOUS RYDER were sent for sampling.

Race:9 (730) LUNG MUN ROAD HANDICAP (Sec2) Class 3 1400 m

GREEN CARD was withdrawn on 7.6.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (right fore medial suspensory branch injury). Before being allowed to race again, GREEN CARD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Just prior to the start being effected, MONGOLIAN LEGEND turned its head to the right and then was slow to begin. MONGOLIAN LEGEND was then hampered by AMAZING SATCHMO which began only fairly and shifted in abruptly. In this incident, AMAZING SATCHMO became unbalanced after receiving contact on the hindquarters from MONGOLIAN LEGEND.
HAPPY FORCE shifted out at the start and bumped STARSHIP. Then from a wide barrier, STARSHIP was steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After shifting in when only just clear approaching the 1100 Metres, HAPPY FORCE was steadied by its rider, M L Yeung, resulting in COMFORT LIFE being very awkwardly placed behind HAPPY FORCE for some distance after the 1100 Metres. M L Yeung was reprimanded and told that he must be fully clear when shifting ground and to ensure that horses which was trailing are not placed in an awkward position. Then making the turn near the 900 Metres, COMFORT LIFE got its head up when awkwardly placed behind HAPPY FORCE.
Passing the 1100 Metres, BEAUTY ENERGY was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of COMFORT LIFE.
After the 300 Metres, AMAZING SATCHMO was shifted in away from the heels of MONGOLIAN LEGEND to obtain clear running.
Throughout the race, BOMBAY BLITZ travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of BOMBAY BLITZ immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, BOMBAY BLITZ will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of and COMFORT LIFE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BEAUTY ENERGY and CIRCUIT HASSLER were sent for sampling.

Race:10 (731) POK FU LAM COUNTRY PARK HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 3 1200 m

After being loaded into the barriers, STAR OF YUEN LONG became fractious and reared on a number of occasions. As STAR OF YUEN LONG was being removed from the barriers to undergo a veterinary examination, CLASSIC POSH then became fractious and kicked out, resulting in the horse getting its left hind leg over the back gate. Then as STAR OF YUEN LONG was being removed from the barriers, that horse reared over and fell backwards, resulting in K C Leung being dislodged. STAR OF YUEN LONG was then quickly recaptured by the starting gate handlers. Acting on veterinary advice that STAR OF YUEN LONG was not suitable to race, it was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Also after being removed from the barriers, CLASSIC POSH was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had sustained wounds to the left hind leg and accordingly was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, CLASSIC POSH was also withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, both STAR OF YUEN LONG and CLASSIC POSH will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. 
SHOUSON began only fairly and then was crowded for room between PING HAI GALAXY and KING OF HEARTS which shifted out.
Near the 1150 Metres, DIAMOND BRILLIANT momentarily raced in restricted room between SPEEDY LUCK and GOLDEN SIXTY which was awkwardly placed inside BEAUTY SPARK. Then passing the 1100 Metres, GOLDEN SIXTY raced in restricted room between SPEEDY LUCK and BEAUTY SPARK which got its head on the side and shifted in away from PING HAI GALAXY.
Passing the 500 Metres, BEAUTY SPARK shifted in when awkwardly placed close to the heels of WINNING FEELING which made the Home Turn awkwardly. When BEAUTY SPARK shifted in, SPEEDY LUCK, which was racing to the inside of that horse, was bumped, causing both SPEEDY LUCK and BEAUTY SPARK to become unbalanced. BEAUTY SPARK then shifted out, resulting in GOLDEN SIXTY, which was improving to its outside, being taken out onto MR CROISSANT which then raced tight outside GOLDEN SIXTY as that horse improved further to the outside of PING HAI GALAXY.
As BEAUTY SPARK endeavoured to improve between WINNING FEELING and PING HAI GALAXY approaching the 300 Metres, BEAUTY SPARK was checked when disappointed for running between WINNING FEELING which shifted out and PING HAI GALAXY which, after shifting out towards GOLDEN SIXTY, then became unbalanced after making contact with GOLDEN SIXTY and then was taken in by GOLDEN SIXTY which raced tight inside MR CROISSANT which shifted in marginally. As the Stewards were satisfied that there was no carelessness exhibited by any rider in this incident, no further action was taken.
After the race, Z Purton stated that whilst BEAUTY SPARK suffered interference approaching the 300 Metres, the horse was reluctant to improve between runners and, in his opinion, was only going to finish off the race fairly. A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY SPARK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Also after the race, J Moreira (PING HAI GALAXY) stated that although the horse was required to race in a three wide position and without cover from approaching the 900 Metres, he was of the opinion that it was slightly disappointing as it did not quicken when asked and then did not finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of PING HAI GALAXY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GOLDEN SIXTY and MR CROISSANT were sent for sampling.

Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of SALTO OLIMPICO, TASHIDELEK, GODSPEED, LOVE CHUNGHWA, SNAP FIT, DEMONS ROCK, PACKING ROCKSTAR, RELIABLE TEAM, HERO TIME, SMART PATCH, FLAME LILY, CORDYCEPS, BIGWOOD, ALL YOU KNOW, JUMBO PRIZE, DOCTOR GEOFF and GREEN LUCK revealed no apparent abnormality.
