Group 1 winner Craig Newitt is at the centre of a multi-state stewards investigation into the alleged betting activities of jockeys.
Newitt confirmed the news to RSN on Tuesday, indicating that a request had been made for him to front Racing Victoria stewards in the coming weeks.
“There’s not much I can say. I’m not too worried about it,” Newitt told RSN.
A winner of 35 Group 1 races in Australia and abroad on star gallopers including Lankan Rupee, Miss Andretti and Samaready, Newitt left Melbourne to resettle in Tasmania in 2017.
On Sunday, the 33-year-old steered Barry Campbell’s Eastender to victory in the Group 3 Hobart Cup (2400m).
