Godolphin weekend runners update

Godolphin's trainer James Cummings comments on the stable's runners at Doomben and Morphettville on Saturday.

DOOMBEN

Race 7 - BRC Sprint-Group 3  (Qlty)       (1350m)
MOHER (AUS) - 5yo Gelding by Lonhro (AUS) out of An Chlais (AUS)
“Moher is prepared to run the best run of his preparation in the BRC Sprint.
He’s certainly going into this race looking as good as we’ve had him.
This will be an interesting throw at the stumps for Moher, he’s getting deeper into his campaign but still has a bit of freshness in his legs against some horses who have been campaigning for a fair while

Race 8 - Hardy Brothers Doomben Cup-Group 1  (WFA)     (2000m)
IT'S SOMEWHAT (USA) - 7yo Gelding by Dynaformer (USA) out of Sometime (IRE)
“I know he comes off a lacklustre run in the Hollindale Stakes, but we were forced to work a little bit hard from a wide gate.
But as far as his pattern goes, this should suit him third up.
If he can turn it around as he’s prone to do once he gets to 2000m, then I think we can expect to see a vastly improved version of It’s Somewhat.
He galloped in blinkers yesterday morning and the team reported that he worked very nicely.
He was well-beaten at Moonee Valley last spring and then improved dramatically to run third in the G1 Mackinnon Stakes.
That sort of performance would have him competitive against an even bunch of WFA horses this weekend.

MORPHETTVILLE

Race 7 - Darley Goodwood-Group 1  (SWP)       (1200m)
VIRIDINE (AUS) - 3yo Colt by Poet's Voice (GB) out of Patina (AUS)
“He’s come out of the Euclase Stakes in very good order.
In fact, he’s been marching around feeling very good about himself for the past couple of weeks.
He galloped beautifully on the course proper this morning and he’ll be going to the Goodwood.
Even though he’s not well off under the conditions of that race, he’ll get there in very, very good shape and in a condition that’s going to see him perform adequately again at G1 level.
If he can improve a bit and find a couple of lengths on his first performance left-handed then I think he’s a knockout chance in this race.
He’s certainly fit and has the class to be right there with them, and I think he’ll be parading as one of the picks in the yard.
I think he’s got the grounding and the fitness to be running as good a race as he can produce.
