Race 1 TWITTER TROPHY - 1800 metres:

Midas Prince Raced three wide without cover.

Impi Faltered near the 400 metres. Weakened from the 300 metres. Rider Kerrin McEvoy reported the gelding raced keenly and would appreciate tracks with more give. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame left hind. A veterinary clearance is required prior to being permitted to race again.

I Boogi (NZ) Post-race veterinary examination identified the presence of blood at both nostrils. I Boogi (NZ) shall not without permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months thereafter; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward.

Mahis Angel Weakened from the 300 metres. Rider Jamie Kah reported her mount raced flat. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

 

Race 2 DARLEY MARIBYRNONG PLATE - 1000 metres:

Coup De Tonnerre Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival after being fractious whilst being loaded onto the float, sustaining an abrasion to its back and whither and was passed suitable to race. Hung in from the 300 metres.

Luiselli Jumped away awkwardly and made heavy contact with the starting gate, unbalancing rider Dwayne Dunn.

Castlecomer Began awkwardly, shifted out and made heavy contact with Arctic Ice. Checked near the 350 metres. Rider James McDonald reported the colt raced greenly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be shin sore bilaterally. A veterinary clearance is required prior to being permitted to race again.

Arctic Ice Hampered at the start after being heavily contacted by Jerle and Castlecomer. Rider Damian Lane could offer no explanation for the performance other than to suggest the filly may not have been suited by the straight course. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Jerle Bounded at the start and made contact with the starting gate.

Eastern Wind Began awkwardly.

Galactic Fury Slow to begin.

Tagaloa Lay in from the 300 metres.

Boom Daddy Weakened from the 200 metres. Rider Stephen Baster reported his mount would appreciate tracks with more give and may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Damian Lane (Arctic Ice) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provision of AR131(a). The careless riding being that he permitted his mount to shift out near the 350 metres when insufficiently clear of Castlecomer, resulting in Castlecomer having to be checked. D Lane had his licence to ride in races suspended for a total of twelve meetings to commence midnight 16 November, 2019 and to expire midnight 27 November, 2019. (4 metro, 8 provincial). In assessing penalty the Stewards were of the view that the incident qualified for the mid-range category of carelessness and took into account his guilty plea and record.

 

Race 3 OFF THE TRACK SUBZERO HANDICAP - 1400 metres:

Waiting For A Mate Trainer Norm Loy was fined $300 for failing to arrive on course by the prescribed time.

Mr Tipla (NZ) Began awkwardly. Held up for clear running from the 100 metres and went to the finish not fully tested. Lost the near fore plate during the event.

Septzento Began awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with Waiting For A Mate.

Galaxy Ghost Began awkwardly.

Caribbean Pearl Slow to begin.

Sir Simon Raced keenly in the early stages. Approaching the 1200 metres steadied to avoid the heels of Fly For Yulong (IRE) (Kerrin McEvoy), which was shifting in. K McEvoy was reprimanded and notified to exercise more care. Rider Sigrid Carr reported her mount over raced. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality other than the gelding had lost the off hind plate during the event.

Rainmoth Raced three wide without cover. Rider Jake Toeroek reported his mount lay in under pressure.

Something Silver Held up for clear running between the 500 metres until passing the 400 metres. Rider Jamie Kah reported that despite being held up her mount failed to finish the race off as expected and felt uncomfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.

Bumper Blast (NZ) Shifted in abruptly passing the 200 metres.

 

Race 4 BUMBLE TROPHY RACE - 1700 metres:

So You Swing Began awkwardly and was then tightened for room by Arctic Shock (NZ), which shifted in. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a laceration to the right fore. A veterinary clearance is required prior to being permitted to race again.

Sovereign Award Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Approaching the finish line tightened between Affair To Remember, which was shifting in and Arctic Shock (NZ), which was shifting out.

Loveseat (NZ) Slow to begin. Steadied approaching the finish line when crowded for room between Artic Shock (NZ) and Imperial Dawn.

Shandy Raced three wide without cover.

Lady Young Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

West Wind (NZ) - Approaching the finish line tightened between Affair To Remember, which was shifting in and Arctic Shock (NZ), which was shifting out.

Collectable A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a throat condition. A veterinary clearance is required prior to being permitted to race again.

Maggie Miss A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery and the mare to be lame behind. A veterinary clearance is required prior to being permitted to race again.

 

Race 5 G H MUMM CENTURY STAKES - 1000 metres:

Arrow Lane Trainer John Hickmott was fined $100 for the late notification of rider.

Thermal Current Slow to begin after being fractious in the barrier prior to the start. Held up for clear running from the 200 metres until passing the 100 metres. Co-trainer Simon Zahra was notified that a warning has been placed on the geldings record.

Plague Stone Slow to begin.

Tavisan (NZ) Rider Ben Melham reported the gelding was not suited by the straight course. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.

 

Race 6 MELBOURNE CUP CARNIVAL COUNTRY FINAL - 1600 metres:

Brilliant Concept Reared as the start was effected, slow out and then checked to avoid the heels of Boss Coni, which shifted out.

Boss Coni Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages.

Ripplebrook - Shortly after the start inconvenienced when bumped by No Money No Honey, which shifted out.

No Money No Honey Shortly after the start bumped with Ripplebrook and was inconvenienced. Post-race veterinary examination identified the presence of blood at both nostrils. No Money No Honey shall not without permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months thereafter; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward. Hampered passing the 300m.

Polanco Over raced in the middle stages.

The Great Artiste Raced three wide without cover. Hampered passing the 300m.

Kaplumpich Raced wide without cover.

Starspangled Rodeo Taken off its course near the 300 metres and attempted to buck. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Trainer Joseph Waldron was notified that the gelding is suspended from racing until it performs to the satisfaction of Stewards in a jump out.

Harbour Views When questioned rider John Allen explained that the intention was to ride the gelding in a handy position with cover and for this reason he chose not hold the leading position approaching the 1400 metres on the rail.

John Allen (Harbour Views) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provision of AR131(a). The careless riding being that near the 300 metres he attempted a run where there was insufficient room to the outside of Polanco resulting in Starspangled Rodeo being taken out off its course tightening the running of No Money No Honey and The Great Artiste resulting in both horses being hampered. J Allen had his licence to ride in races suspended for a total of thirteen meetings to commence midnight 9 November, 2019 and to expire midnight 19 November, 2019. (2 metro, 11 provincial). In assessing penalty the Stewards were of the view that the incident qualified for the mid-range category of carelessness and took into account his record.

Race 7 TCL TV STAKES - 1800 metres:

Russian Camelot Fractious in the barrier. Underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. Slow into stride and then tightened for room between Themagicneverends and The Red Sea, both of which shifted ground.

Vienna Rain Inconvenienced at the start when bumped by Jayrod Too. Raced three wide without cover. Steadied passing the 400 metres when disappointed for running between Russian Camelot (IRE) and The Red Sea, which shifted out slightly.

Jayrod Too (NZ) Began awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with Vienna Rain. Got its head up when being restrained approaching the 1000 metres. Taken out off its course approaching the 400 metres by Pancho, which shifted out to obtain running between that colt and Highland Jakk (NZ) .

Pancho Began awkwardly.

Quick Thinker Weakened from the 100 metres. Rider Damian Lane reported the colt raced keenly and as a result raced further forward than its normal racing pattern, which in his view, may have been detrimental to its chances. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Breaking Loose (NZ) Eased down in the straight. Rider John Allen could offer no explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

 

Race 8 KENNEDY OAKS - 2500 metres:

Silent Sovereign Change of tactics To be ridden more forward. Led.

Victory Approach Began awkwardly. Rider Michelle Payne reported the saddle shifted back when her mount was placed under pressure and was then eased down in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery and the filly was lame left foreleg. A veterinary clearance is required prior to being permitted to race again.

Never Listen (2nd placegetter) Began awkwardly and was then tightened for room between Silent Sovereign and Stick Em Up, which shifted out. Rider Darryl McLellan pleaded guilty to breaching the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on ten occasions prior to the 100 metres. D McLellan had his licence to ride in races suspended for a total of six meetings to commence midnight 16 November, 2019 and to expire at the end of the day meeting 22November, 2019 (1 metro, 5 provincial). Further, D McLellan was fined $2,500. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his guilty plea, that he finished second in a Group 1 race, his record in this area and the totality of his whip use.

Vegas Jewel (NZ) Raced three wide without cover. When questioned rider Jordan Childs explained that he remined in the three wide position from the 2000 metres rather than allow the filly to go forward and settle outside the leader Silent Sovereign, as in his view he would have asked too much of the filly and he was of the view that Ocean Miss had an opportunity to shift to the rail and allow him to be in the one off position, however, Ocean Miss remained in the one off position keeping him three wide.

Gamay Rider Ryan Moore could offer no explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

 

Race 9 NETWORK 10 RED ROSES STAKES - 1100 metres:

Prior to the declaration of correct weight Hugh Bowman (Tenley), 6th placegetter, viewed the stewards' video before deciding not to lodge an objection.

Tenley Began awkwardly.

Marcada Began awkwardly.

California Zimbol Raced keenly in the early stages.

Absolute Flirt Rider Damien Oliver reported his mount had come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

The careless riding being that he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of Tenley, resulting in Tenley having to be steadied to avoid the heels of Wayupinthesky. D Lane had his licence to ride in races suspended for a total of nine meetings (midnight 16 November, 2019 midnight 24 November, 2019) to be served concurrently with the suspension incurred in race 2. In assessing penalty the Stewards were of the view that the incident qualified for the mid-range category of carelessness and took into account his guilty plea and record
