2018 Mackinnon Stakes: Tips and Race Preview

Tips and Race Preview for the 2018 Mackinnon Stakes at Flemington on Saturday lands on another Godolphin runner, Blair House has top form and is $2.25.

Trap For Fools is the leader. Think Latrobe will want to press forward and try and make it a test of stamina.

BLAIR HOUSE finds a very winnable Group 1 here. Ran up to win the Caulfield Stakes last time but couldn't force his way past Benbatl who backed that form up with a top effort in the Cox Plate. This looks lengths easier than that contest and he should get a soft run on the back of the speed from barrier two.

TRAP FOR FOOLS can be in this for a long way. Top effort in the Moonee Valley Cup and better suited back to this trip.

LATROBE may need further but he will stick on. Irish Derby winner has to be respected. Shillelagh won well last week and has a hope off that.

1st – 3 Blair House

2nd – 4 Trap For Fools

3rd – 7 Latrobe

4th – 8 Shillelagh

2018 VRC Sprint Classic: Tips and Race Preview

A non-Everest runner leads the Tips and Race Preview for the 2018 VRC Sprint Classic, Pierata comes here fresh and is $5.

Invincible Star can fly early and lead them up on the far side. Redzel will be right up there and if he can get going early U S Navy Flag is likely to push forward on the standside.

PIERATA is drawn over with Invincible Star and she might just provide him the perfect bunny to chase here. He was dominant in the Sydney Stakes last time and a truly run 1200m here looks a great scenario for him.

Good chance to beat the reigning champ REDZEL who once again arrives off a win in The Everest and can be relied upon to give his running.

KEMENTARI rattled home in the Manikato and ties right in with Pierata. Will be strong at the finish along with Santa Ana Lane who has jumped out well since The Everest.

1st – 6 Pierata

2nd – 1 Redzel

3rd – 7 Kementari

4th – 3 Santa Ana Lane

2018 Queen Elizabeth Stakes: Tips and Race Preview

A good horse all spring heads the Tips and Race Preview for the 2018 Queen Elizabeth Stakes, Jaameh deserves another win and is $4.80.

Northwest Passage looks the leader with Sully and Midterm handy. Sir Isaac Newton can be up there at this trip.

JAAMEH backs up off a really good effort in the Lexus last week. That's a good piece of form, the winner has since run really well in the Melbourne Cup, and this lacks that sort of depth.

GALLIC CHIEFTAIN finished just behind him there and has to be a good chance. Been really good throughout the spring and finds the most winnable race for him of the campaign so far.

LORD FANDANGO got too far back at Bendigo. Ran well and fitter again. He's a big threat coming to his peak at the right time. Midterm should be in the race for a long way.

1st – 7 Jaameh

2nd – 2 Gallic Chieftain

3rd – 3 Lord Fandango

4th – 11 Midterm

2018 Matriarch Stakes: Tips and Race Preview

Taking the Cox Plate form to stand up in the Tips and Race Preview for the 2018 Matriarch Stakes. Savvy Coup is way down in class and is $7.50.

Miss Siska and Silent Roar look the early speed and there should be enough pressure for spots behind them to ensure a fair tempo.

SAVVY COUP needs some luck early on from that barrier. Chance for them to be positive here after racing very keen last time. She was no match in the Cox Plate but tumbles lengths in class for this and her Group One-winning form in New Zealand appeals.

AQUA D'IVINA goes the other way. She's up in class but she is winning and improving all the time and think that she measures up.

Had to like the way that TEMPLE OF BEL found the line in the Empire Rose last week and she looks as likely as any through that race. Respect Miss Siska backing up and getting the right run on speed.

1st – 2 Savvy Coup

2nd – 12 Aqua D’ivina

3rd – 11 Temple Of Bel

4th – 13 Miss Siska

2018 Chatham Stakes: Tips and Race Preview

Taking value in the Tips and Race Preview for the 2018 Chatham Stakes. Dreamforce is ready to peak and is at $7.

Dollar For Dollar comes across from out wide. Perast and perhaps Classic Uniform will look to be handy.

DREAMFORCE draws out but he can slide across with Dollar For Dollar and get into a great spot. He was on a hot tempo last time and just second up there. Given that his effort to stick on as he did was full or merit and this looks the right race for him on the back of that. At his peak now.

WIDGEE TURF ran his typically honest race around the Valley last time. Good horse well placed here. AGE OF FIRE should be a sharp improver and can run well at odds. Dollar For Dollar finds an easier race here and must be respected.

1st – 4 Dreamforce

2nd – 1 Widgee Turf

3rd – 8 Age Of Fire

4th – 3 Dollar For Dollar
