Equal favourites for 2YO Classic

Dubious and Exhilarates are now equal $5 favourites to win Saturday’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) on the Gold Coast.

The Maher and Eustace trained Dubious, by Not A Single Doubt, had been backed in to favouritism on Wednesday after going $7-$5, briefly overtaking Godolphin's Sniotzel filly Exhilarates for the top spot in betting, however, weight of money today now sees them joint favourites.

Exhilarates ($5.50-$5) is holding slightly more money than Dubious while the biggest bet taken on the race so far, since the barrier, has gone on Unite And Conquer which attracted a bet of $5,000 @ $6.

“This is a fantastic betting duel at the top of the market,” TAB’s Glenn Munsie.

“Weight of money today has been in favour of the James Cummings runner (Exhilarates) while yesterday it was more for Dubious.

“While we have taken a sizable bet on Unite And Conquer, favourite backers are more inclined to be focusing on the top two in the market and are steering clear of the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott runner at this point.”

In the 3YO Guineas, favourite Outback Barbie has shortened even further in the past 24 hours and is $2.60-$2.30.

Boomsara, which hit a high of $5 yesterday, has come in for good support too and is now back to a $4 quote with the pair the only runners that punters want at this point. They are responsible for nearly 70 percent of the money in the market since Tuesday’s draw.
