Cheltenham track update

Following significant rain at the course, the going at Cheltenham is currently HEAVY, SOFT IN PLACES.
The track received 14 millimetres of rain on Friday night, with a further 14 millimetres overnight on Sunday into Monday afternoon (up to 3.41pm).
Simon Claisse, Cheltenham's Clerk of the Course, reported today: "It started to rain on Friday night and, in total, we've had 45 millimetres of rain and snow in the last couple of weeks.
"The track has come out of it very well and looks good. We are hoping that we are seeing the last of the rain for a while this afternoon. We are forecast a dry day on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
"There could be quite a bit of rain on Wednesday night into Thursday, but we have got a lot of fresh ground on the New Course, so I think we'll be in good shape come the end of the week too.
"We will have some lovely afternoons and nice temperatures too. We could reach 11 or 12 degrees by the end of the week.
"I went round the course at lunchtime and was very happy with the current conditions."
The GoingStick reading came to 5.3 at 3pm.
