Racing Victoria (RV) advised on Wednesday that an additional race meeting has been scheduled on turf at Horsham next Tuesday, 14 August, to assist those connections impacted by the abandonment of Wednesday's race meeting at Bendigo owing to wet weather.
Nominations for the eight-race program will close at 3pm tomorrow – Thursday, 9 August – with acceptances to be taken at 11.15am the following day.
In addition to this, RV has announced that a $40,000 Benchmark 70 race over 1000-metres has been added to the program on Wednesday, 15 August at Ladbrokes Park Hillside.
Nominations for this ninth race will close at 12 noon tomorrow with acceptances to be taken at 9am on Monday, 13 August.
Horses that were engaged to race at the abandoned Bendigo meeting were also offered the opportunity today to be entered as extended entries for the Moe meeting on Saturday, 11 August and as original entries for Cranbourne and Wodonga on Sunday, 12 August.
RV General Manager, International and Racing Operations, Paul Bloodworth, said, “It was unfortunate that today’s meeting at Bendigo could not go ahead as planned due to the impacts of heavy overnight rain, however we are pleased to advise that an additional turf meeting has been scheduled at Horsham on Tuesday.
