Alberto Sanna to ride in Hong Kong on July 9th

Hong Kong Jockey Club stewards' advise that for the meeting to be conducted on Sunday, 9 July 2017, the Club has arranged for Jockey Alberto Sanna to be available to accept race riding engagements at the stated race meeting.

Alberto Sanna, 32 years of age, is a former champion apprentice jockey in Italy who has in excess of 800 career wins to his credit and has been riding successfully for the past 5 seasons in Qatar and Bahrain where he was champion jockey for the recently completed racing season. Jockey Sanna’s minimum riding weight is 120 lbs.

In other news that at the Sha Tin race meeting conducted on Saturday, 1 July 2017, Apprentice Jockey Matthew M F Poon rode his 20th winner on Hard Ball Get. As such, Apprentice Poon’s claiming allowance is now reduced to 7 lbs commencing with the Sha Tin race meeting scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, 16 July 2017, the day on which he is due to resume riding following a previously incurred suspension.
