Godolphin weekend runners update
07 Dec 2017 | ThoroughbredNEWS News Desk
Godolphin's trainer James Cummings comments on the stable's runners at Ascot on Saturday.

Listed Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Classic (1,400m)

GAULOIS - 3yo Colt by Street Cry (IRE) out of Celts
“He was very game in defeat at his past two starts over 1600m after being wide both times,”
“I feel that the drop back to 1400m means he’ll have plenty of strength throughout.
“This is a race that Gaulois can be very competitive in given the great form he’s shown in his recent runs.”

G1 Kingston Town Stakes (1,800m)

IT'S SOMEWHAT (USA) - 6yo Gelding by Dynaformer (USA) out of Sometime (IRE)
“He’s really been targeted at this race for the entire campaign and we feel that he’s building up to his peak for this preparation.
“He achieved a good result with his third in the Emirates Stakes at Flemington and the space between runs coming into this suits him, as he’s proved in the past.
“He gets his opportunity here coming back to nine furlongs which is a distance he won over at weight-for-age in the Hollindale Stakes last winter.
“The team in Perth are really happy with the way he’s settled in.”
