It's Somewhat (USA) heads Doomben Cup nominations

Godolphin's in-form It's Somewhat (USA) heads 36 nominations for the $650,000, Group 1 WFA Hardy Brothers Doomben Cup (2200m) at Doomben on Saturday.

The six-year-old Dynaformer gelding has been in excellent form with three successive wins this campaign and four wins from his last five starts with the other a  third place.

This campaign commenced with a win in the Group 2 Ajax Stakes over 1500m at Rosehill on March 11th. The Group 1 Doncaster Mile over 1600m at Randwick on April 1st followed with 55kg under a top rated ride by Zac Purton. Then it was to the Gold Coast and a win in the Group 1 AD Hollindale Stakes over 1800m on May 5th.

The Brisbane Race Club received a total of 188 nominations on Monday for eight race programme.

The track is currently rated a Soft 6 and the rail will be out 2.5m for the entire circuit.

Brisbane’s weather is forecast to be fine until Friday when a very high (l90%) chance of showers is predicted with 6mm-15mm and 23c and Saturday’s forecast to be cloudy with a high (80%) chance of showers with 6mm-20mm and 18c – 24c.
