Early raceday wagering preview
18 Mar 2017 | ThoroughbredNEWS News Desk
An early snapshot of today’s betting with TAB.com.au for races at the Longines Golden Slipper meeting at Rosehill.

RACE ONE

Our Century ($3.20) has been very popular this morning. Holding nearly twice as much as the next best backed runner in Allergic ($4-$3.80).

RACE TWO

Samantha ($4.40) has had the eye of punters ever since the markets opened. Responsible for around 37 percent of the total investment. Raiment ($3.20) is the only other horse to have had any decent support.

RACE THREE

Punters have been with Tactical Advantage from earlier in the week. Best price was $4.60 prior to scratchings. Since then is $2.50 into $2.30. Crafty Cop ($7.50) next best backed while War Hero has trimmed up today from $41-$31.

RACE FOUR

A tale of two horses – The United States has firmed right up while Hartnell has blown.

The United States is $4 into $3.80 after $5.50 was available yesterday while Godolphin’s Hartnell is $1.80 out to $2.40.

RACE FIVE

All Winx at $1.15. Hasn’t budged from that price since Final Field.

Chautauqua is $8-$7.50 but punters haven’t touched anything else.

BETS: Winx $67,000 @ $1.15, $13,00-0 @ $1,15, $9,000 @ $1.15

RACE SIX

Inference has bottomed out at $3 after being $3.60 when Final Field was announced.

It and Gingernuts ($6-$5.50) have been the two punters have wanted. Together they account for nearly 60 percent of the market. So Si Bon was $51 on Wednesday and is now into $21 in a move at longer odds.

RACE SEVEN

Invader was scratched this morning with deductions being 3c Win 4c Place.

Houtzen has trimmed up slightly from $4.40 into $4.20 and is the most popular runner in terms of money taken today, but only just!

Frolic has firmed up dramatically since the barrier draw. $14 was available after the draw and today alone she is $11 into $8.

Catchy continues to attract good money while Diamond Tathagata was $61 after the draw and is now $26 . One-time Slipper favourite She Will Reign is $5.50 out to $7.50.

BETS

Catchy ($1,000 @ $6 MULTIPLE TIMES, $500 @ $6 MULTIPLE TIMES)

Tulip ($400 @ $10, $500 @ $9.50)

She Will Reign ($1,000 @ $5)

Frolic($1,000 @ $12, $2,500 @ $11)

Houtzen ($2,000 e/w @ $4.40/$1.85)

RACE EIGHT

Russian Revolution has been the big firmer this morning. After $6 was available earlier in the week, the Snowden-trained runner bottomed out at $4.50 and is now $4.60. We attracted a big bet about an hour ago of $4,000 @ $4.50 on it.

We cannot write a decent bet for Music Magnate who has blown from $6 to $11.

RACE NINE

Very quiet betting race.

Gabella has been tried at odds and is $17 into $15 today after as much as $26 was available.

It is holding just as much money as two of the favourites – Elle Lou and Alegria.

RACE TEN

Pomelo ($3.70) has been the best supported runner in terms of money taken.

Is twice as popular as Machinegun Jubs ($4.60-$4) while The Wasp ($16) has had some interest at the eachway price.
