Williams appeals Flemington suspension

The Victorian Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board will hear an appeal by jockey Craig Williams at 4.00pm on Tuesday, 14 November 2017.

Mr Williams has lodged an appeal against the decision of the stewards and severity of the penalty imposed when he was found guilty of a charge of careless riding on his mount Sworn Evidence in Race 1 the Drinkwise Plate (1700m) at Flemington on Thursday, 9 November 2017.

Mr Williams has his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at the conclusion of the day meeting on Thursday, 16 November 2017 and to expire at midnight on Tuesday, 21 November 2017 – a total of 8 race meetings (2 metropolitan, 6 provincial).

A stay of proceedings was not requested.
