The additional as a late nomination of Godolphin's Group 1 Randwick Guineas winner Kementari to the $500,000, Group 1 WFA Winx Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on Saturday has made little difference to the pre-acceptance market for the race.
On Monday the champion mare Winx opened at $1.10 to claim her 26th straight victory. On Tuesday afternoon Winx had 'drifted' to $1.13 with TAB.com.au while Kementari was at $8.00, D'Argento at $13.00, out from $11.00 and Ace High and Showtime the best of the rest at $26.00.
Godolphin's Alizee, who was at $15.00, is out of the race and all spring racing after suffering a bleeding attack.
Kementari was second on his seasonal debut to Pierata in the Group 2 Missile Stakes over 1200m at Randwick on August 4th.
“Winx jumped $1.10 when she missed the start in the Warwick Stakes first up last year and just nailed Foxplay on the line,” TAB’s Gerard Middleton said on Monday.
“She may start slightly longer this year being an older mare but nothing will stop the punters piling in.”
