Track conditions, form and scratchings for Randwick-Kensington

The rebuilt Kensington track at Randwick will hold its first race meeting on Wednesday with the track rated a Good 4 on Tuesday after 2mm of irrigation in the last 24 hours and 10mm in the last seven days.

The inner track will be used for the first time since November, 2014, when the previous track laid with a new grass type, Village Green kikuyu, failed to root sufficiently for racing. The track was subsequently completely rebuilt with all the previous drainage and infrastructure replaced before the new turf was laid.

The track has been given time to consolidate and for the turf root profile to establish itself. Trials have been conducted on the track with good reports from jockeys taking part.

The seven race programme on Wednesday commences at 1.25pm with a field of seven two-year-old's in the $40,000, All Too Hard Vinery Handicap (1300m).
