Three-year-old's lead Black Caviar Lightning nominations

A fascinating contest is on offer for the $750,000, Group 1 WFA Black Caviar Lightning (1000m) at Flemington on Saturday with the spring’s leading three-year-old’s ready to joust again for the autumn.

The first four home in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes over 1200m at Flemington on November 3rd, Sunlight, Zousain, Lean Mean Machine and Written By are joined by Graff in Monday’s nominations.

Graff and Sunlight head TAB.com.au’s All In opening market at $4.50 with Zousain sharing $6.00 with Godolphin’s Osbourne Bulls, Lean Mean Machine sharing $8.00 with In Her Time and Written By sharing $11.00 with Eduardo.

The Kris Lees’ trained Star Witness colt Graff resumes after an excellent fifth in The Everest over 1200m at Randwick in October on a Heavy 9 track after starting from barrier ten. The colt earlier had won the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes over 1100m at Rosehill and finished third to The Autumn Sun and Zousain in the Group 1 Golden Rose over 1400m, also at Rosehill.

In the run prior he was second to Lean Mean Machine in the Group 2 Run To The Rose, so these colts know each other well with their further development to be watched with keen interest.

Grahame Begg’s Written By, the winner of the 2018 Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes, resumed with a second to Bons Away in the listed WJ Adams Stakes over 1000m at Caulfield on February 2nd.

The Flemington track is rated a Good 4 on Monday with the rail to be in the true position for the entire circuit.
