A decision on Presenting Percy's participation in the Grade 3 BetVictor Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse on Saturday will be made on Friday morning, according to the Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite's trainer Pat Kelly.
Speaking on Thursday afternoon, Kelly said: "I'm walking the course at Fairyhouse and will be discussing whether we'll run with the horse's owner Philip Reynolds tonight. We'll make a decision before declaration time tomorrow."
The ground at Fairyhouse was described as "good, good to yielding in places" yesterday and with a dry forecast selective watering of the course was under way.
Presenting Percy, who has not run over fences since landing the RSA Chase at last year's Cheltenham Festival, made his reappearance at Gowran Park last month when he landed the Grade 2 Galmoy Hurdle for the second consecutive year.
The eight-year-old has missed a few engagements over fences this season, mainly because of unsuitably dry ground conditions, with the most recent case the Red Mills Chase at Gowran Park last weekend.
Presenting Percy, a top-priced 7-2 for the Gold Cup on March 15, is one of 11 entries for the 3m1f Fairyhouse event. They include the 2017 winner and last year's Grand National runner-up Pleasant Company and Rathvinden, winner of the National Hunt Chase at last year's festival.
