Kaldero – Began awkwardly.

Sparkling Facet – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Cliff’s Choice – Slow to begin. Was held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight and then approaching the 200m was shifted to the outside of Pamplemousse to continue into clear running. Cliff’s Choice then laid in under pressure over the 200m.
Ally Bally Bee – Slow to begin and then was crowded between Kaldero and Pamplemousse, which shifted in.
RACE 2: Mato Maiden Handicap 1200m
The Big Vin – Proved difficult to load resulting in the start of this race being delayed. Trainer Ms K Gavenlock was advised that an official warning would be recorded against the barrier manners of The Big Vin.
Start All Over – Slow to begin.
Red Lily – From the outside barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. When questioned rider R Thompson stated that Red Lily did not travel comfortably at any stage throughout the event and when placed under pressure in the straight was inclined to lay in and was disappointing in its failure to finish off its race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Cosimo – Was bumped on jumping by The Big Vin, which began awkwardly and shifted in. When questioned rider M Bell stated that his mount raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and despite his constant efforts to settle Cosimo, the colt continued to overrace. M Bell added that as a result of its racing manners, Cosimo was a beaten horse as far out as the 300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
My Rajah – Began awkwardly and was brushed by Red Lily.
RACE 3: Carter’s F&M Class 1 Handicap 1200m
Nipotina – Slow to begin. Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
All Too Free – Change of tactics – to be ridden further back; settled on-pace. When questioned rider A Layt stated that his instructions from Mr Peter Snowden were to obtain cover if possible. He stated that after beginning well his mount raced a little keenly throughout the early stages, however approaching the 900m when crossed by Joanne’s Cruisin’, All Too Free travelled well from this point in a position with cover behind the leaders.
Ellebeedee – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages when being restrained in an endeavour to obtain cover.
Tirone Miss – Began awkwardly.
Vihari – After being loaded Vihari got its off-hind leg up on the running board, was examined behind the barriers by the Club’s Official Veterinary Officer and was passed fit to start.
Miss Kyeema – Change of tactics - to be ridden further back; settled back. Slow to begin (2L). Approaching the 500m had to be steadied when attempting to improve between Tirone Miss and Ellebeedee where there was insufficient room. App L Day was advised to ensure that when attempting to improve there is sufficient room to do so. Rider L Day stated that on straightening as she was racing to the outside of the heels of Vihari, although she observed clear running to the inside of that runner she felt she would have had to steady her mount to perform this manoeuvre and lose ground at a vital stage of the race. She added that in the early part of the straight she was held up when racing in restricted room between Vihari and Tirone Miss. App L Day stated that she was then able to place her mount under pressure near the 350m and approaching the 200m she shifted Miss Kyeema to the outside of Tirone Miss to continue into clear running, however when Tirone Miss shifted out slightly approaching the 150m Miss Kyeema was briefly inconvenienced. Rider L Day further stated that for some distance passing the 50m she again became held up when awkwardly placed on the heels of Tirone Miss when that runner was taken out marginally by Vihari.
Joanne’s Cruisin’ – When racing wide and without cover in the early stages was allowed to stride forward and race outside the leader approaching the 900m. Lost its near fore plate after passing the 200m.
RACE 4: ADS Class 1 Handicap 1600m
Huangshan – Change of tactics – option to be ridden more forward; settled off-pace.
Toroso – When questioned regarding the reason Toroso raced wide and without cover throughout the event rider A Layt stated that he was instructed to settle in an off-pace position. He stated that after beginning well from an inside barrier he trailed Huangshan throughout the early stages. He added that approaching the 1200m when he felt Huangshan was being shifted to the rail, he allowed his mount to stride forward and race outside that runner. Rider A Layt further stated that when the rider of Huangshan shifted back out and elected to maintain a one out position as he had already positioned Toroso to the outside of that runner Toroso was shifted to a three wide position, passing the 1200m and was obliged to race wide and without cover from this point
Extreme Measure – Change of tactics - to be ridden more forward; settled on-pace. Laid out rounding the home turn and then was held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight.
Mr Mile – Began awkwardly and despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed and ultimately settled in a midfield position.

Hubble – Near the 800m was steadied to avoid the heels of Smart Melody which itself was being steadied and shifted out.

When questioned App J Duggan stated that she was able to establish a position outside the lead without having to use to much of her mount in the early stages. She added that her mount travelled well in this position however from the 400m when placed under pressure the filly commenced to lay in and failed to finish off the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Stewards subsequently ordered that all monies wagered on Tell No Tales be refunded in full and with regard to betting with bookmakers all successful wagers made prior to 2.01pm to be subject to the following deductions in the dollar on the face value of the ticket:

RACE 6: Alfabs Maiden Handicap 1850m
Calaway Dancer – Raced keenly throughout the early stages and approaching the 1400m shifted out away from the heels of Isadora Twinkle. A short distance later Calaway Dancer was taken in marginally by Alice Of Ulster (G Buckley) when that runner shifted in slightly and as a result Calaway Dancer clipped the heels of Isadora Twinkle and blundered. On the evidence as Stewards could not be satisfied that Calaway Dancer established a run between Alice Of Ulster and Isadora twinkle no further action was taken.

Versetto – After refusing to load Versetto was a late withdrawal at 3.24pm. Stewards subsequently order that all monies wagered on Versetto be refunded in full and with regard to betting with bookmakers all successful wagers made prior to 2.43pm to be subject to the following deductions in the dollar on the face value of the ticket:
1st) Texas Tycoon less 9c win and less 12c place.
