Race 1KARINGAL FOOTBALL CLUB PLATE - 1000 metres:

Nivalis – Damian Lane was severely reprimanded for failing to fulfil his engagement to ride the filly due to being overweight.  Raced wide without cover throughout. When racing greenly shifted out and made contact with Yulong Mercury approaching the 200 metres.

Beerz With Clint – Trainer Clinton McDonald was fined $200 for the race day notification of Mark Zahra as the rider of the gelding. Lay in when under pressure in the early stages of the straight.

Notice Me - Slow to begin. Rider Damien Thornton was severely reprimanded for using his whip on his mount when out of contention.

Elizano – On jumping away became unbalanced after bumping with Templar.

Pershing – Began awkwardly.

Templar – On jumping away bumped Elizano. Raced keenly during the middle stages.

Yulong Mercury – Raced ungenerously in the middle stages when wide without cover.

Hello Sweetheart – From the 400 metres until passing the 200 metres held up when unable to obtain a clear run.

Bold Type – Lay in when under pressure in the straight.

Race 2STELLAR.COM.AU PLATE - 1600 metres: 

Jeddah Aheadah – Change of tactics – To be ridden more forward. Ridden accordingly.

Evie Matilda – Slow to begin. From the 500 metres until passing the 300 metres held up when unable to obtain a clear run. 

Superior Rose – Slow to begin.

Champagne Friday (NZ) – On jumping away became unbalanced after being bumped by Madam Stowell. Lay in when under pressure in the straight.

Red Jewell Girl (NZ) – Commenced awkwardly.

Halleys Choice – Raced wide without cover throughout.

Blitz N Magic – Raced keenly during the early and middle stages.

Maryachi (NZ) – After passing the 300 metres, when improving, momentarily steadied from the heels of Zaarossa. Again, steadied near the 200 metres when disappointed for a run.

Daisley – Rider Luke Currie reported that the filly hung out throughout and commenced to give ground quickly when placed under pressure. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Halleys Choice – Rider Clayton Douglas reported that the mare made an unusual respiratory noise and he had recommended to connections to reapply the tongue tie. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Race 3LUKE DUHIG MEMORIAL PLATE (1) - 1200 metres: 

Commanding Style – Trainer Amy Johnson was fined $100 for the late notification of Jake Noonan as the rider of the filly.

Creative Harmony – Change of tactics – Began awkwardly.  To be ridden more conservatively. Raced in a mid-field position.

Dash For Van – Slow to begin.

Red Devil – Began awkwardly. Rider Damian Lane could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with co-trainers Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra. 

Moski – On jumping away became unbalanced after being bumped by Bralcas Gem.

Bralcas Gem - Raced wide without cover throughout.

Magnus Rufus – Raced keenly during the early and middle stages.

Race 4HANDYMAN STEEL SUPPLIES PLATE (2) - 1200 metres: 

Pantone – Trainer Luke Oliver was fined $200 for failing to present the gelding on course by the prescribed time. Raced keenly during the middle stages.

River House (NZ) – Fractious in the barrier. Underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with trainer Matthew Enright.

Chilli Pepper – Commenced awkwardly and lost ground.

Shinseki – Slow to begin.

Greyworm – Began awkwardly.

Totally Kaptivated – Raced keenly when wide without cover throughout.

Troubleshot – Raced keenly throughout the event.

Race 5ANCHOR POINT ENGINEERING HANDICAP - 1200 metres: 

Sundaze Lovin – Trainer Mark Young was fined $200 for failing to present the gelding on course by the prescribed time.

Josephine Sea - Fractious in the barrier. Underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout.

Leilas Star – Slow to begin.

Typhoon Rubi – Slow to begin.

Emaan – Raced wide without cover throughout.

Peninsula Miss – From the 500 metres until near the 100 metres held up when unable to obtain a clear run.

Carano – Lay out rounding the home turn. Rider Michael Walker reported the filly, which was first up from a spell today, would benefit from todays race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Pageantry – A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly had sustained wounds to both hind pasterns.

Race 6HOAD CONSTRUCTION HANDICAP - 1600 metres: 

Rubme – Change of tactics – To be ridden more forward. After being slow to begin settled towards the rear. Raced ungenerously in the middle stages and got its head up on a number of occasions.

Meowie Wowie – Stood flat footed as the start was effected and as a result lost considerable ground (15L) before tacking onto the field near the 900 metres. Trainer Rob Blacker was notified that the mare is now suspended from racing until such time as it trials to the satisfaction of stewards in an official trial. 

Race 7CLANBROOKE RACING HANDICAP - 2000 metres: 

Correct Weight was delayed when Craig Williams rider of Reticent, equal 1st placegetter, requested to view the official photo. Stewards agreed with the Judges decision and Correct Weight was declared.

Dandre - Change of tactics – To be ridden more forward. Settled just behind the speed. Raced keenly during the middle stages.

The Ultimatum – Began awkwardly.

Aurora Miss – Got its head up on leaving the gates.

The Donchess – Raced wide without cover throughout.

But Its True (NZ) – From passing the 500 metres until passing the 200 metres held up when unable to obtain a clear run.

Senor Alf – Near the 200 metres hampered when tightened for room between The Ultimatum and But Its True (NZ), which was shifting out from behind the heels of Reticent (NZ) to improve.

Rosstart -  Had to be steadied approaching the 100 metres to avoid the heels of Truly High, which shifted in slightly and Esposito Gold, which at the same time shifted out slightly.  As a result Blaze Ahead, which was following, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Rosstart.

Street Spun – Held up for a short distance approaching and passing the 200 metres.

Blaze Ahead - Steadied to avoid the heels of Rosstart approaching the 100 metres.

Wimborne – A post race veterinary examination revealed a slower than normal recovery.

Race 8FRANKSTON MOTOR GROUP HANDICAP - 1000 metres: 

Leelavadee – Slow to begin.

Yulong Yongxing – Commenced awkwardly and got its head up. Rider Regan Bayliss could offer no explanation for the performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Don’t Play Around – Commenced awkwardly.

Weekend Escape – On jumping away became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by Mutual Respect, which had been carried out by The Mayor. Raced wide without cover throughout.

Mutual Respect -  On jumping away became unbalanced when tightened for room between Weekend Escape and The Mayor, which commenced awkwardly and shifted out. Lay in when under pressure in the straight.

The Mayor – Commenced awkwardly and shifted out. Lay out rounding the home turn.

Sacred Sister – Lay out when under pressure rounding the home turn. Rider Damien Thornton reported his mount was not suited by the tight turning circuit. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Captains Son – Approaching the 100 metres inconvenienced when carried in by Mutual Respect when that gelding lay in under pressure.

Race 9LES TAGGART LAST DRINKS @ MORNINGTON HANDICAP - 1200 metres:

Rapid Asset – Late scratching at 2.20pm after injuring itself in the stable prior to being transported to the course.

Call It A Day – Fractious in the barrier. Underwent a veterinary examination and was deemed unfit to race. Acting on veterinary advice Stewards ordered the late scratching of Call It A Day at 4.31pm. All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded. All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket: Win Bets – 13 cents, Place Bets (For Winner) – 17 cents, Place Bets (For 2nd) -  8 cents, Place Bets (For 3rd) – 16 cents *All monies bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket. Trainer Wez Hunter was notified that Call It A Day is now suspended from racing until such time as it trials to the satisfaction of Stewards in a jump out.

Moonlight Ruby – Slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Robert De Hero - Began awkwardly. Shortly after the start had to be steadied when tightened for room between Caprese, which was carried in slightly by Izenashark and Toosbuy, which shifted out.

Caprese – Began awkwardly. Shortly after the start hampered when tightened for room by Robert De Hero and Izenashark, which shifted in slightly. Raced keenly during the middle stages.

Nic Nac – Raced wide without cover throughout.

Aventador – Near the 300 metres had to be steadied when tightened for room by Raja Ampat (app Chelsea Hall), which shifted out when not quite clear. C Hall was severely reprimanded.
