RACE 1: Blake’s Marine Prov & Ctry Maiden Handicap 1100m:

Breaking Cover – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight and near the 100m had to be shifted to the outside of Foxy Rocket to continue into clear running.

 

Our Liberty – Stood flat-footed as the start was affected and as a consequence lost considerable ground (8L). Trainer Mr N Mayfield-Smith was advised that Our Liberty will be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to being permitted to race again. After being held up rounding the home turn behind Sharpest, Arkam Asylum (J Innes) shifted to the outside of that runner in an endeavour to obtain clear running and in doing so made contact with Our Liberty which was hampered and taken wider. J Innes was advised to exercise more care.

 

Night Flyer – Slow to begin.

 

Beaurama – Near the 800m was steadied from the heels of Heza Gentleman (L. Magorrian) which shifted in when not clear. L. Magorrian was advised to exercise more care. Laid out under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examined revealed no abnormalities.

 

Philanthropist – Rider K Latham reported that in his opinion the gelding did not handle today’s heavy track conditions.

 

Our Blue Moon – Near the 300m laid in and made contact with Beaurama.

 

Arkam Asylum – Laid out under pressure over the final 200m.

 

RACE 2: XXXX Gold Maiden Plate 1100m:

Nanpo – Began awkwardly shifted out and made contact with Pair Of Heels. Raced keenly in the middle stages and passing the 600m was eased from the heels of Pair Of Heels.

 

Mandalong Sera – Began awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with Destiny’s Son. Raced keenly in the middle stages.

 

Saturn – Slow to begin and shortly afterwards was bumped by Miss Goodnight which shifted out.

 

Miss Goodnight – From a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight whereby the mare was shifted to the inside of Destiny’s Son to continue into clear running. Over the final 200m laid out under pressure.

 

Pair Of Heels – Rider T Berry reported that Pair Of Heels hung in throughout the event and as a consequence he could not test his mount in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stable representative Mr C Ashby was advised that Pair Of Heels would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to being permitted to race again.

 

Canzonet – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

 

Jetline – Laid in when place under pressure in the straight.

 

Destiny’s Son – When questioned regarding the performance, the only explanation App R Dolan could offer was that in his opinion Destiny’s Son, which was having its first race startwould benefit from today's race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be slow to recover.

 

RACE 3: Hawkesbury Gazette 2YO Maiden Handicap (1300m)

Secretively – Began awkwardly. Near the 1100m, when overracing had to be steadied asway from the heels of Echo Lad (R. Dolan), which shifted in when not clear. A short distance later, Secretively again had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Strange Charm (S. Weatherly) which shifted in when not clear. Both App. R. Dolan and S. Weatherly were advised to exercise more care. Secretively continued to overrace for some distance passing the 1000m and had to be eased away from the heels of Strange Charm. Rider G. Schofield reported, as a result of the colt's racing manners, Secretively failed to finish its race off as expected. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

 

Flinders – From the wide barrier, was shifted behind runners in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have shifted its off-hind plate.

 

Individualist – Slow to begin. From a wide barrier, was shifted behind runners in the early stages.

 

Rich And Shameless – Began awkwardly, was then shifted behind runners from its wide barrier in the early stages. Raced keenly in the middle stages.

 

Echo Lad – Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight.

 

RACE 4: Polytrack Benchmark 64 Handicap (1300m)

 

A Million Dreams (NZ) – App. S. Clinton reported that her mount was inclined to lay in over the final 100m.

 

Bad Boy For Love – From its wide barrier, was shifted behind runners in the early stages. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

 

Waka – App. R. Dolan (Teronino) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131A in that he permitted his mount to shift in near the 1100m when insufficiently clear of Waka, resulting in that filly losing its rightful running and having to be checked. Bad Boy For Love which was following Waka had to be checked as a consequent when that runner lost ground. App. R. Dolan's permit to ride in races was suspended from Sunday 30th June 2019 and to expire on Wednesday 10th July 2019, on which day he may ride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

 

Debate – Over the final 50m, was inclined to lay in.

 

Quick Spin – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 1100m, was eased to avoid the heels of Debate, which shifted out marginally. Quick Spin continued to race keenly in the middle stages. Laid out running the hometurn in the early part of the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

 

 

RACE 5: Robert Oatley Wines 3YO&Up Maiden Plate (1300m)

 

Blazing – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Near the 700m, had to be steadied when disappointed for a run between Mid Air and Scarpa, which shifted out slightly. Held up rounding the home turn in the early part of the straight. Shifted to the inside of Kiss And Tell to obtain clear running. Over the final 150m, was inclined to lay out under pressure. When questioned regarding the gelding racing further back today, rider G. Schofield stated that whilst the gelding had raced prominently at its most recent start, he was issued no specific instructions. As he commenced well, Blazing in the early stages was racing prominently, however when runners to the geldings outside, hey were showing intent to race forward, hRace elected to take a trailing position.

 

Josephus – Slow to begin. Raced wide and without cover until approaching the 800m, where it was able to assume a position outside the leader, Kiss And Tell.

 

Ocean Villa – Slow to begin.

 

Scarpa – Raced wide and without cover until near the 900m.

 

Mid Air – Began awkwardly. Raced wide and without cover from the 800m.

 

Moinda – Raced keenly in the middle stages.

 

Sharokina – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight, whereby Sharokina was able to secure clear running near the 300m.

RACE 6: Livamol Mile Class 2 Handicap (1600m)

Decroux – From its wide barrier, was shifted behind runners in the early stages.Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight. Laid in when placed under pressure over the final 150m. Over the concluding stages, was unable to be fully tested when awkwardly placed on the heels of Miss Louisiana.

 

Fast Train – Raced wide and without cover until approaching the 1000m, where it was allowed to stride forward and assumed the lead.

 

Miss Louisiana – Began awkwardly.Laid in when placed under pressure from the 300m.

 

Litzen – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

 

Moana Jewel (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages.

 

Smart Decision – Was a late scratching at 3:51pm acting on veterinary advice after the filly reared in the barriers and became cast. The Stewards ruled that all moneys invested on Smart Decision be refunded in full and that all successful wages made prior to 3:51PM be subject to the following deductions in the face value of each ticket.

1st  Miss Louisiana 7c win, 8c place

2nd Decruex 10c place

3rd Fast Train 13c place

Stable representative Miss Maher was advised that Smart Decision will be required to barrier trial two consecutive occasions.

 

Dragon Shadow – As T. Wolfgram was overweight, Stewards permitted R. Murray to be substituted as the rider of the gelding. T. Wolfgram will be interviewed at a later date.

 

RACE 7: Hawkesbury Race Club Motel Benchmark 64 Handicap (1800m)

The Cartoonist – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

 

Albert Of Monaco – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Was held up in the early part of the straight. Passing the 200m, was disappointed for a run between Fairy Me Home and The Cartoonist, which shifted out. Albert of Monaco was then held up until approaching the 100m.

 

Dundee Lee – Hung out in the home straight.

 

Fairy Me Home (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Was then shifted behind runners in the early stages from its wide barrier. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages and refused to settle. Raced wide and without cover from the 900m.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities..

 

Diva Peron – Began awkwardly and made contact with the offside partition of the barrier. Near the 1100m, was eased to avoid the heels of Fairy Me Home, which shifted out when racing ungenerously.

 

Dexluther – Slow to begin.

 

Power of Wexford – Began awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with Fairy Me Home.

 

On Angel's Wings – Raced keenly in the middle stages.

 

Redazzity – Had difficulty obtaining completely clear running in the home straight when inclined to lay in.

 

Sacred's Edge – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be 4/5 lame in near foreleg and near hindleg. Trainer Ms. C. Cunningham advised that the gelding would now be retired. Acting on this assurance, no further action was taken.
