James Cummings ranked 2019 Blue Diamond Stakes Day as being in his 'top 10' for days at the track but you get the feeling Avilius is ranked even higher in the Godolphin pecking order after he destroyed his rivals in the Group 2 Peter Young Stakes at Caulfield.
Before Avilius' triumph, Cummings won the G1 Futurity Stakes with Alizee and his three-year-old Encryption ran second in the Oakleigh Plate, with the only feature race 'failure' coming from fourth-placed Athiri in the Blue Diamond Stakes.
The Peter Young was the last race on the program and Cummings was in a reflective mood after Avilius won his first weight-for-age race in Australia and by doing so, took a stranglehold on next month's Australian Cup at Flemington.

"I must say he has an aura about him," Cummings said of Avilius. "A glow to the eye. He reminds me a little bit of a horse we use to train called Precedence and you don't see them very often.
"An intelligent horse with so much kindness and all he wants to do is give. I love seeing genuine horses like Avilius and he makes everyone around him look good at their job.
"He's clean-winded. He's unassuming and yet he's a beautiful animal to do anything with."
Ridden by Hugh Bowman, Avilius ($1.95 fav) drifted to midfield from his inside alley but he was always travelling well and he ran straight through the gaps that presented in the home straight. On the line he was easing down in a race that boasted six Group 1 winners.
He had a length-and-a-half margin on early leader Trap For Fools ($15), with a long neck to Ace High ($31) in third.
Cummings confirmed Avilius would go next to the Australian Cup on March 9, where he is certain to start a short-priced favourite, but Cummings said he planned to give Avilius a light autumn.
"I am conscious of the landscape changing in the spring but this horse is flying and I think he's worth looking after," he said.
"On that finish, he looks the horse to beat in the Australian Cup. This horse has not just done the job for us, I think he's continued to make a statement.
"He enjoyed the firm track and the pace throughout and settled a little closer and I was impressed with how strong he was late."
