Grand Dreamer Slow to begin.

Felaar (NZ) Near the 2100 metres steadied to avoid the heels of Alfarris (FR), which was carried in by Rock On (NZ), which in turn was carried in by OLonera (Michael Poy), which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. M Poy was reminded of his obligations to ensure there is sufficient racing room to his inside.

Alfarris (FR) Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 900 metres raced in restricted room to the inside of OLonera (Michael Poy). M Poy was spoken to advisedly.

Eastender Commenced a run three wide from the 800 metres. Performed below market expectations. Rider Craig Newitt reported his mount was not suited by the large weight impost. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

OLonera Passing the 300 metres tightened for room between Rock On (NZ) and Alfarris (FR) which laid out.

Race 2 LADBROKES BACK YOURSELF HANDICAP - 1100 metres:

Bryan Broke through the front of the barriers, quickly restrained. Underwent a veterinary examination and passed suitable to race. App Justin Huxtable was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out fully to the winning post. Stewards were satisfied his actions did not affect the placings.

Akkadian Slow to begin.

Im Telling Ya - Restrained from the start.

William Thomas Restrained from the start.

Delvecchio Raced wide without cover.

Good Offa Settled outside the leader. Hung out from the 500 metres. Passing the 300 metres when continuing to hang out, shifted out and brushed Delvecchio. At this point Seven Year Reward took a narrow run to its inside and Good Offa had to be steadied. Eased down over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Trainer Dane Smith was notified that a warning has been placed on the geldings record.

Seven Year Reward Near the 200 metres steadied to avoid the heels of Delvecchio (Joe Bowditch), which shifted in marginally.

Sirius Suspect Approaching the winning post raced in restricted room to the inside of Delvecchio, which shifted in.

Race 3 ROD RENWICK HANDICAP - 1600 metres:

Thunderdome Change of tactics To be ridden more forward. Led.

Saccharo Slow to begin.

Shandy Restrained from the start. Raced wide without cover throughout. Rider Chris Symons reported his mount may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Candescence Commenced awkwardly before being checked between Dalswinton and Crockett. Eased down in the straight. Rider Brett Prebble could offer no explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Crockett Checked at the start by Im Dun Dreamin, which shifted out.

Im Dun Dreamin Commenced awkwardly before being restrained. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, Michelle Payne explained that as per the geldings normal racing pattern, she wanted to ride toward the rear of the field to let her mount finish off in the straight, however, after jumping away extremely well, she found herself further forward and therefore elected to restrain Im Dun Dreamin to settle towards the rear of the field.

Zoutori Over raced in the early stages.

Orcein Over raced in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 500 metres steadied off the heels of Zoutori.

Bill The Bee When questioned regarding the riding tactics adopted rounding the home turn, rider Nikita Beriman explained that after assessing the track conditions she elected to allow her mount to shift out towards a four-wide position, as in her opinion, this was the superior part of the track. She added that in hindsight she would have been better suited by maintaining her position to the outside of Thunderdome.

Race 4 IAN MILLER HANDICAP - 1600 metres:

Prior to the declaration of correct weight app Lachlan King (Miss Admiration), fourth placegetter, viewed the Stewards' video before deciding not to lodge an objection.

Miss Admiration Contacted the fence on leaving the enclosure. Underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. Shortly after passing the 600 metres raced in restricted room to the inside of Kazio, which in turn was carried in marginally by Kemono (JPN). Passing the 100 metres was momentarily inconvenienced by Kazio, which shifted in before being straightened by its rider.

Riyadh (NZ) Slow into stride.

Mahamedeis Hampered at the start by Kazio which shifted in. Performed below market expectations. Rider Michael Dee reported that when the pace quickened near the 600 metres his mount was left flat footed. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Kazio Had a tendency to lay in over the concluding stages.

Race 5 DARREN GAUCI HANDICAP - 1100 metres:

Laoban Tai Tai Slow to begin.

Neurotic Approaching the 800 metres restrained when tightened for room between Josephine Sea and Egyptian Bullet, which was carried in by Raspberry Rose (NZ).

All About Nicci Shortly after the start steadied when tightened for room between Warragul and Egyptian Bullet.

Egyptian Bullet Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 600 metres raced in restricted room between Josephine Sea and Queen Annabel.

Josephine Sea Shortly after passing the 600 metres tightened and raced in restricted room to the inside of Egyptian Bullet, which was inclined to shift in and away from Queen Annabel.

My Biddy Approaching the winning post steadied when tightened for room between Egyptian Bullet and All About Nicci, as a result of both runners shifting ground marginally.

Warragul Post race veterinary examination identified the presence of blood at both nostrils. As this is the second time Warragul has bled the mare is now barred from racing in Australia. AR79(6)

App Stephanie Thornton (Raspberry Rose) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provision of AR131(a). The careless riding being that near the 800 metres she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Egyptian Bullet resulting in that mare being taken in off its course and tightening the running of Neurotic, resulting in Neurotic losing its rightful running. S Thornton had her permit to ride in races suspended for a total of nine meetings to commence midnight 15 May, 2019 and to expire midnight 22 May, 2019. (1 metro, 8 provincial). In assessing penalty the Stewards were of the view that the incident qualified for the low-range category of carelessness and took into account her record.

Race 6 VALE REDOUTES CHOICE STAKES - 1200 metres:

Hilo Slow to begin.

Memphis Towers Commenced awkwardly.

La Belle Epoque Hampered at the start by Memphis Rock, which shifted in. Near the 150 metres shifted out over the heels of First Responder in order to maintain clear running.

Washington Towers Slow to begin before being restrained. Over raced in the early stages.

Mishe Mokwa Hampered at the start. Rider Jye McNeil reported his mount has come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Free Thrills Raced wide without cover throughout. Laid out rounding the home turn and in the straight.

Moldova When questioned rider Brett Prebble stated that Moldova was the first horse beaten and in his opinion, may not have handled the soft track conditions or been suited by the seven day back up from its previous start (Flemington 4/5/2019). He further explained that he was not overly vigorous on the filly as he elected to keep it balanced, where he felt Moldova travelled better.

Race 7 LE PINE FUNERALS HANDICAP - 1100 metres:

Graceful Storm - After receiving a report from the RV Veterinary Surgeon Dr Wearn that there was puncture wound on the jugular of the filly, Stewards took evidence from trainer John Moloney and telephonic evidence from stable veterinarian Dr Peter Angus. It was established that Graceful Storm had been treated with Pentosan and a vitamin injection on Thursday morning (9/5/2019). On the evidence, Stewards allowed Graceful Storm to take its place in the field and post-race swab samples were taken from the filly.

Notation Fractious in the barrier and got its leg up. Underwent a veterinary examination and was deemed unfit to race. Acting on veterinary advice Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the filly at 3.42pm. All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded. Villermont Bounded as the start was effected.

App Michael Poy reported his mount failed to travel throughout and did not handle todays track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Blaze Forth Restrained in the early stages. Tactics queried. Rider Craig Newitt stated that due to the anticipated speed in the event it had been the intention to settle midfield. He added the gelding can over race and after beginning well he elected to restrain, however, the gelding settled further back than intended. Trainer John Blacker confirmed his intention for the gelding to settle worse than mid-field due to the anticipated strong tempo.

Leonardo Da Hinchi Over raced in the early and middle stages. Rider Michael Dee reported the colt raced too keenly and he would have preferred to take and sit and this was detrimental to its chances today.
