Bryony Frost taken to hospital after injuring shoulder in Southwell fall

Bryony Frost, who enjoyed a memorable Cheltenham Festival last week thanks to Ryanair Chase success aboard Frodon, has been sent for an x-ray on her shoulder after a fall in the opening race at Southwell on Monday.

Frost, who was front-page news after Thursday’s Grade 1 success, fell at the tenth fence aboard Midnight Bliss for trainer Caroline Fryer, and although she was able to walk back to the weighing room unaided was subsequently sent for x-rays by the course doctor.

"She’s gone to King's Mill Hospital for an x-ray on her left shoulder," said clerk of the course Paul Barker. "I don’t know any more other than she’s awaiting an x-ray."

Fergus Gregory replaces Frost aboard Destinys Choice, trained by Michael Blake, in the finale at Southwell.

Blake said: "I saw her only when she came back in and she looked a bit sore."
