Star sprinter Ball Of Muscle will miss next month's Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes after bleeding from both nostrils following his barrier trial at Canterbury on Tuesday morning.
Racing NSW stewards revealed that the speedster now faces a mandatory three-month ban.
It comes as unfortunate news for connections and trainer Joe Pride given the last-start Schillaci Stakes winner was set to contest the feature sprint race at Ascot in Perth in three weeks' time.
Also on Tuesday morning, Troy Corstens confirmed the in-form Runson will travel to Perth on Sunday to contest the Winterbottom.
"Runson will fly out to Perth on Sunday after having a jumpout at Flemington on Friday," Corstens said.
"He is in career-best form, no doubt about it, and has gone to a different level this time around, with maturity he has really come into his own.
"He's comes through [his last-start third in the Linlithgow Stakes behind Osborne Bulls] really well and I really feel a bit of time between runs will suit him.
"This will be his biggest test and I am excited to see if he'll be competitive at Group 1 level.
"It is a decent step-up in class but I think Osborne Bulls is one of the best sprinters in the country so if you take a line through that he should be up to it."
