Redzel will take a slot in the $10m, The Everest (1200m) at Randwick on October 14th, the Snowden trained sprinter's managers Triple Crown Syndications announced on Tuesday evening.
Triple Crown said that in conjunction with James Harron Bloodstock the five-year-old Snitzel Group 1 winner will utilise the latters purchased slot for the weight-for-age contest.
“Redzel has had a meteoric rise over the last 12 months. This has seen him record a Group 1 win in the Doomben 10,000 in May before returning with an emphatic win first up in the Concorde Stakes, producing the highest Timeform rating for that race in the past 20 years," said Triple Crown's Chris Ward.
"Trainer’s Peter and Paul Snowden told us early on he had stepped up to another level again this preparation and it’s an honour to have one of the very best sprinters in the land."
"On behalf of my owners in the JHB Everest slot we are hugely excited to team up with Triple Crown, Team Snowden and Redzel. He is a brilliant and consistent sprinter who has either won or been second in 11 of his last 13 starts and was scintillating under 60kg in the Concorde last time," said Harron.
"With Peter and Paul Snowden training, along with Kerrin riding there's a superb team behind Redzel for The Everest."
Redzel opened his spring campaign winning the Group 3 Concorde Stakes over 1000m by 2L recording the final 600m in 32.91 on September 2nd. He is nominated for the $200,000, Group 2 The Shorts (1100m) at Randwick on Saturday.
