Preview and form for Greyville

Race preview for the meeting at Greyville-All Weather aand Turf on Saturday. Selections by Andrew Harrison.

Race 1
Preview: Some promising fillies in a wide open race. SEQUINED is still a maiden but was a close-up second to BRIDAL VEIL two runs back and was then narrowly beaten in a Listed feature. She can take advantage of a 3kg pull in the weights. LADY IN BLACK won well on debut and should much prefer this longer trip. A wide draw is a concern but she looks progressive. BRIDAL VEIL had a tough draw in the Golden Slipper and should improve here while AWESOMENESS will also enjoy this trip. (Andrew Harrison: 12-4-2-1).

Race 2
Preview: TROPHY WIFE has not managed a win this term but has been up against strong fields. If she stays the trip she will be a big runner. Stable companion WITCHCRAFT has her third run after a lay-off. She was doing her best work late in the Tack & Ball Oaks and will be right there. GIRL ON THE RUN has yet to finish out of the money. She was running on well in the Oaks and also rates a strong chance on that showing. NIMA has been a model of consistency but could find the first three a touch too classy at these weights. (Andrew Harrison: 2-1-3-4).

Race 3
Preview: CAPTAIN GAMBLER was tossed in the deep end against the colts in the Daily News 2000. She has plenty of scope for improvement. PREMIER DANCE has yet to finish out of the money and won well first run back from a trip to Cape Town. She should go close in this field. WELL IN FLIGHT is seldom far back and has a chance from a good draw. DIAMANTE takes on a useful field here but has a light weight and the step up in trip should suit. (Andrew Harrison: 3-1-5-8).

Race 4
Preview: Wide open handicap. GUNSHIP has won her last two and comes from an in form stable. She now races in a tongue-tie for the first time and shows enough class to go in again. ICY SPIRIT can improve on her last start as the tongue-tie is back on and she jumps from a plum draw. ACCIDENTAL TOURIST comes from a stable in good form. The blinkers come off and she has a good chance at best. RIVER AYRE has been much improved in blinkers and has done well in good fields. She does have a difficult draw. (Andrew Harrison: 4-3-7-8).

Race 5
Preview: Difficult handicap. GUNPOWDER PLOT has not featured since shedding his maiden but does take a big drop in class here. From a good draw he rates a chance. ALMOST HUMAN seems better than recent form would suggest and has been taking on stronger. Y’RETHEONE is lightly raced and returns from a short break. He has shown ability and with a tongue-tie for the first time has a strong chance in this company. ZINZARA was much improved last run. If she can build on that effort she must have a winning chance. (Andrew Harrison: 1-4-2-7).

Race 6
Preview: Open. RODNEY found one too good form him when making his poly debut and his form since then has been consistent. He looks to have a big chance. LIL RED ROOSTER is quick and goes well this distance. ZINNAVAR showed up well first up on the poly and has not been far back since. He has a handy weight and will be competitive. ROCKY VALLEY can do better than his last outing and another in with a winning chance. (Andrew Harrison: 2-7-4-1)

Witchcraft (Nkosi Hlophe)
Witchcraft (Nkosi Hlophe)

Race 7
Preview: Tricky. QING has been a little disappointing at her two local outings but is capable of much better with blinkers on. FROSTY FRIDAY has taken on the cream of the crop at recent starts and found just below top class. She can do much better here. Sean Tarry holds a big hand but HEAPS OF FUN, who won well first up on the poly could prove the pick of his runners. She had some useful form before that and can follow up. SILVER CLASS is unbeaten on the poly but does take on stronger. (Andrew Harrison: 6-1-3-7).

Race 8
Preview: NEW PREDATOR has some smart form in top class company over further. But he does show good speed and with blinkers on he could upset the more accomplished sprinters. TRIP TO HEAVEN tends to start slowly but has a smart turn of foot. He goes particularly well on this course. TALKTOTHESTARS put his Tsogo Sun run behind him when finishing with a rattle when second to SEARCH PARTY in the Post Merchants. He is better off at the weights here and can turn the tables. (Andrew Harrison: 8-1-3-5).

Race 9
Preview: Weak field where anything can happen. ASTROMAN has been consistent and goes well on the poly. He may be the one to beat. SABER’S BEADS took on much stronger on the turf last time out. His previous two over course and distance when racing in a tongue-tie for the first time were not bad and he rates a good chance on those showings. RUSSIAN SPEED has had two tricky draws to contend with at recent outings. He has a plum draw here and can feature. GIVE YOUR BEST was not far back from a wide draw last time out. He has a good chance from a smart draw. (Andrew Harrison: 4-6-9-1).

Race 10
Preview: Another wide open event. PLYMOUTH ROCK is lightly raced but has shown ability. He took on stronger last time out and a repeat will see him close here. FANGIA takes to the poly for the first time and has some fair Highveld form. He could prove the one to be with. TERABYTE ran well below form last time out and that is best ignored. He has some good form before that and tries blinkers for the first time. FOREFUL RUSH has his third run after a break. He is lightly raced but looks set for good improvement. (Andrew Harrison: 3-7-10-8).
