The opening TAB.com.au market after the declaration of the final field for the second running of the $2m, Group 1 Schweppes Sydney Cup (3200m) at Randwick on Saturday.
“Our bookies are wary of the Charlie Appleby-trained Penglai Pavilion ($5) and Polarisation ($6) which are harder in the market than they were a fortnight ago,” TAB’s Gerard Middleton said.
“But punters were still keen to back Big Duke in the all-in market and they’re getting a bigger price this time around in final field betting.”
Since the market opened, there has been some early specking for the two emergencies Rock On ($26) and Self Sense ($71).
The latest TAB.com.au market as at Wednesday afternoon:
$3.50 Big Duke
$5 Penglai Pavilion
$9 Lasqueti Spirit
$12 Who Shot Thebarman
$13 Chance To Dance
$21 Boom Time
$26 Annus Mirabilis, Kinema, Rock On
$71 Mister Impatience, Pentathlon, Self Sense
