Fine and Good2 (2.0 – 2.2)
Rail: out 4 metres
Horses previewed in numerical order
Race 8 Rating 80 2000m
2 WALK AWAY – Samantha Spratt
Recorded an impressive staying type performance in this grade when coming off the trail to win here on October 9 over 1600m on Slow7 having resumed from a spell with a win at Hastings over 1400m on Slow8 prior. Familiar with the horse Spratt returns to the saddle after Chad Ormsby had been aboard for the recent wins. He recorded his Maiden win in dominant fashion here over 2000m on Good3 and should prove competitive.
4 TWOEEZY – Opie Bosson
From off the pace he sprinted to lead then burst clear to win in this grade at New Plymouth over 1800m on Dead6 with this rider aboard at his third start following a spell. His previous run here over a mile on Slow7 was creditable as he made good progress for sixth on slow footing that proved difficult for horses to quicken and he seems in the right form to make his presence felt.
5 HE’S UNDER THE GUN – Michael Coleman
Fourth at the last meeting here on October 9 over 1600m on Slow7 when second-up from a spell he has won third-up previously and should appreciate both the good footing plus a step to 2000m. He has shown previously to be a capable galloper at best including a course-distance victory with this rider aboard.
