Caulfield trainer Bill Mitchell retires

Former NSW and Caulfield trainer Bill Mitchell has announced that he will relinquish his training licence from the end of the month.


Mitchell has said that personal and health issues, including a bad back, are the reasons for giving up training. but that he will still consult with clients on bloodstock purchases.


Mitchell moved to train out of Caulfield from Randwick four years ago with the diversity of racing in Victoria one of the reasons he cited at the time.


One of the top horses trained by Mitchell included Stylish Century, alongwith  Dignity Dancer, Holding, and Calming in recent seasons..


Mitchell’s family run the New South Wales stud Yarraman Park Stud.
