2017 The Everest: Tips and Race Preview

Tips and race preview for the 2017 Everest at Randwick on Saturday featuring an impressive field of sprinters.

Vega Magic holds favouritism at $4.60 although will need some luck getting across from barrier 10. She Will Reign however has drawn far better with the $5.50 second favourite drawing barrier 2. The early market favourite Chautauqua is now third elect at $6.00.

Genuine early speed engaged. Houtzen, Vega Magic and Redzel will work forward and make this a high pressure race.

VEGA MAGIC is flying having won each of his two runs so far this campaign, the latest the Group 1 Memsie Stakes at Caulfield.

Is the form horse in the field and is yet to put a foot wrong since arriving from Western Australia. Can potentially slot in just behind a lead pair of Houtzen and Redzel. Could take some holding out.

An anticipated genuine early speed can potentially set the race up for a swooper, namely CHAUTAUQUA.

Has been starting to wind up late in each of his two runs so far this prep. Rail being out six metres perhaps not ideal for him. Is however the class sprinter of this field.

SHE WILL REIGN impressed first up in the Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley 15 days ago. Is a progressive sprinting filly and is drawn to get a cosy run in transit.

Win bet Vega Magic.

2017 Craven Plate: Tips and Race Preview

Tips and race preview for the 2017 Craven Plate featuring odds on favourite Happy Clapper. In it’s first running as a half million dollar event, the 2017 Craven Plate at Randwick on has attracted a capacity field of 12 plus one emergency.

Happy Clapper holds favouritism at $2.90 and has drawn barrier 1. The Darren Weir-trained Star Exhibit and Mackintosh are the only other runners quoted at singled figures and will jump from barriers six and five respectively.

Classic Uniform and Embley profile as the likely lead pair.

While not a noted ten furlong horse, class alone should get HAPPY CLAPPER over the line here.

Has improved with each run since winning the Tramway first up and claimed what had been an elusive Group 1 success when winning the Epsom Handicap here 14 days ago.

Should be peaking fourth run from a spell and looks to have a couple of lengths on his nearest rivals.

MACKINTOSH placed in the Hill Stakes last start however was found post race to have pulled up with the thumps. Has a number of gear changes here which could spark him.

STAR EXHIBIT perhaps ready to show something more fourth run from a spell. Was making some good late ground last start in the JRA Cup.

Expect Happy Clapper to be winning so bet accordingly.
